The wind blows gently through Durk's clothes, the late fall air warm and familiar; like a distant dream.
There's a low hum, grating and warped "In a way."
"Why? Can't you just leave?"
"You know I can't."
"Why?"
Silence falls, light glitters on the horizon where a towering skyline dominates the darkness.
It's a beautiful night.
"You tell me." The voice says, deep and a little amused. "There's no rush, we on yo time."
Casting his gaze down, Durk stares at the phone in his hand. It powers on with a quiet whirl and he rubs away the smear of red on the screen, "That's true."
Exiting out of the call app he goes to the photo gallery, favorites was already queued up, the first picture brightening up the screen—

"I can't believe I let you talk me into this dumbass shit."
Durk squeezes his eyes shut as the rollercoaster finally squeals to the top. This is a fucking nightmare.
"Bae," Von tries to tug their hands apart but Durk will be damned if he lets the nigga pull away right now. "C'mon, you gotta look."
"No, I already told you I was keeping my shit closed."
The cart rolls painfully slow across the top, anticipation has Durk's anxiety skyrocketing. He wishes they would just fall already and get it over with.
"You can't— shorty," Durk's heart drops when Von manages to untangle their fingers, "they gon' take a picture on the way down so you g—"
Whatever he was saying gets lost in the wind as they suddenly start plummeting to the ground. Durk screams as his stomach drops to his ass just to shoot right back up to his throat.
