A loud howl emerged from the centre of the Forest . ' Great , about damn time ' I said as I took off my blindfold . I stood up and surveyed my surroundings , the forest was pitch black , the only source of light was from the luminous sky . "Hopefully this will end better than last time " I said as I recalled how he only won because of one of does carefully calculated traps he made .
A second howl emerged , this time signalling that our war game has started . This has been a ritual between me and my brother , Tyler , that happens every month since we were 10 . We both have a month to plan and prepare so it was pretty fair except for the fact that my brother was 4 years older than me .
Although I've lost most of our encounters , I'm pretty sure I gave him hell every month , in terms of strength I'm strongest because of my heritage , but he is the best strategist our pack has ever seen , which I'm pretty sure means the only reason he ever wins is because of that brain of his . Not that I'm dumb , but he's just too calm and calculates everything , I'm more of the I'm-going-to-bash-you-up type . Why haven't I made traps ? Well I tried , got stuck , couldn't get out , smart Older brother wins . Not the best at it , but hey , A for Effort , am I right ?
As soon as I caught his scent , I ran towards it
, I was sure I would win this time . I ran into an open area where his scent led to , and immediately regretted my choice , traps flung to life , arrows flew , trees toppled , logs attached to ropes came flying in different directions , with much difficulty , I maneuvered past everything , missing most of the traps by a fraction of an inch . As soon as I stepped out of
booby trapped area , i was sweating and swearing , catching my breathe with my hands on my knee .
" I swear to god ..." Before I could finish my sentence , I was interrupted by my brothers awful singing , which when I say awful it is really terrible , which is pretty funny if you think about it , best brain but worst voice in the pack .
I looked up and I saw my lovely older brother behind a huge log , and I immediately knew I lost , he said out loud " Check mate " with his signature smirk before pushing the log with all his might at me and I pretty much couldn't do anything at that point .
