Author's note: Hello this is Michelle the writer for the story and I said I was making an update and I decided to finish it off. I'm currently in college studying to be an engineer and while I really want to put in a lot of effort like I did previously, it is now hard as I have a lot of work to do and a lot of studying from midterms. I can only make this story about a couple hundred words, maybe a thousand as I am writing this author's note prior to me writing the actual story. I hope you forgive me for my sloppy work. I just wanted to finish off the story so you guys know what happens.
(name) stared at them, her eyes narrowing in confusion. Her heart pounded in her chest as she struggled to make sense of their words.
"What do you mean, three years?" she demanded, her voice wavering.
The solemn expressions on their faces did not change as they explained—how she had been taken, how an Akatsuki member had held her captive for three long years. Her breath caught in her throat as flashes of memories flooded her mind: the dark, endless void, the eerie feeling of time slipping away, the voice that had whispered through the illusion. It all made sense now.
She clenched her fists. "It was Obito. Obito is still alive."
Kakashi's eyes widened, a flicker of shock passing through them before he furrowed his brow. "(name), you're crazy. He died. I saw it happen."
"No," she insisted, shaking her head. "He put me in some kind of genjutsu. He's alive, Kakashi. I know what I saw."
But Kakashi dismissed her words, convinced that grief and confusion had taken hold of her mind. They made their way back to the Hidden Leaf, where (name) was caught up on everything she had missed.
Asuma was dead. Pain had attacked the village, nearly reducing it to rubble. Danzo had seized power, naming himself the Sixth Hokage, only to be struck down by Sasuke during the Kage Summit. And the masked man—Obito—had saved him, revealing himself only to declare war on the world.
"Yep, that's Obito," (name) thought bitterly, her suspicions confirmed.
The nations united against the Akatsuki, preparing for the inevitable war that loomed over them like a storm.
When battle finally came, (name) found herself standing on the same battlefield as Naruto and Sasuke, watching in horror as the world crumbled around them. She saw Obito remove his mask, and in that moment, she met Kakashi's stunned gaze.
"She was right?" he whispered in disbelief.
The battle raged on, each side fighting desperately for their cause. But then, Madara took control of the Ten Tails, and everything spiraled into chaos. Zetsu's betrayal came swift and cold, and soon after, she appeared—Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, an ancient presence that sent chills down (name)'s spine.
She watched Naruto and Sasuke, their figures standing strong even as the weight of the world rested upon their shoulders. A strange warmth filled her chest. They remind me of my sons...
And then, in an instant, everything changed.
Wooden stakes shot through the battlefield, sharp as spears, aimed directly at the hearts of Naruto and Sasuke. (name)'s breath hitched. There wasn't time to think, only to move.
She threw herself forward.
Pain exploded in her chest as the wood pierced her body. She gasped, her vision blurring as warmth spread across her skin—her own blood.
Kakashi and Obito turned in horror.
"(name)!"
Naruto and Sasuke froze, their eyes widening in shock as she collapsed to her knees.
She could feel her life slipping away, but she forced herself to look at them, to offer them a soft, reassuring smile. The pain in their faces hurt more than the wound itself.
"Live on," she whispered, her voice weak. "Please... do not live in the grief of the past. I'll take all the pain... all the hatred... with me. Just—please, forgive each other..."
Her strength faded. The world around her dimmed.
Kakashi reached out, his hands trembling, but he couldn't stop it. He couldn't save her.
Obito watched, his expression unreadable, but the way his hands curled into fists revealed the storm of emotions raging inside him.
Naruto and Sasuke fell to their knees beside her, tears streaming down their faces as they watched their older sister fade away.
(name) gave one last breath... and then, her body crumbled into ash, carried away by the wind.
Silence.
For a moment, the battlefield stood still, mourning the loss of someone who had given everything for them.
Kakashi bowed his head. "I'm so sorry, (name)..."
Obito clenched his teeth, his chest tightening with something he hadn't felt in years—true regret.
Naruto and Sasuke remained there, staring at the empty space where she once lay, their hearts shattered.
After the war, when the dust had settled and the world began to heal, Kakashi was named Hokage. One of his first acts was granting Obito a pardon, sentencing him to community service as a way to atone for his past.
But more than that, he honored (name).
A statue of her was erected in the Hidden Leaf Village, standing tall among the heroes. Her name was forever etched in history, a reminder of her sacrifice and the love she had for those she left behind.
And though time passed, though wounds slowly healed, the memory of (name) never faded.
She lived on in their hearts.
*Please forgive any spelling and grammar mistakes. Thank you for waiting this long and sorry if it was disappointing. Should I revive her?*
