A new day had been brought to me as I woke up, feeling wet and groggy. It had rained while I was sleeping. I got up and I was soaking wet. My clothes were pressed against my skin, showing every curve and crevice on my body.
I walked, hoping i would dry off. I found some berries in a bush and ate them while I walked. I would walk slow and admire the scenery around me. Listen to the hum of the wind and the chirps of the birds. It was all so soothing and made me forget about what had happened three days ago.
I had only dried off a little bit when I heard a horse trotting again. I must be near grounder territory. I hid behind a tree and waited for the person to pass. But, something was different this time. The person riding the horse had long brown hair and piercing blue-green eyes.
Lexa.
I was so lost and I ended up loosing ny balance, and I fell.
The trotting stopped, but she wasn't gone. I got up slighty to watch her. She dismounted from the horse and drew her sword.
"Who's there?" she said loudly. I wondered if I should come out. Say something. I breathed in a deep breath and slowly started to stand up.
"Me." I said standing up. Lexa's eyes went wide as she saw me get up.
"Well, what are the odds?" she said. Obviously referring to the fact we have met again.
"Slim to none." I said lowly.
"Maybe not, Clarke." The way she always said my name in sentence sent a chill down my spine.
"What are you doing here?" she asked, I had a feeling she would start with questions already.
"It's a long story." It really was. She didn't know what had happened at Mount. Weather. Talking about it again would bring back the flood of guilt and tears. I didn't want that.
"I'd love to hear." She couldn't have just said that after what she did.
"Why should I tell you? You left me and my people to die." I said sternly. I wasn't going to act like nothing had happened between us.
"True. But, I did what I had to do for my people."
"What about mine? What about getting both of our peoples out?" By this point I was mad and yelling at her.
"I take care of my people, and you take care of yours." She said quietly getting back onto the horse. She sat there silently.
"Are you coming or not?"
"Coming? With YOU?" Is she serious? "Theres no way I'm going back with you. After what you did. Your people probably hate me!" After all that happened I can't go back with her and face her people.
"I will protect you, Clarke. I promise."
"You promised not to back down from our truce, but you still did." I was still mad but I had lowered my voice.
"I did what I had to do." she said looking me dead in the eyes. "Would you have done the same?"
"No! I would have been loyal and helped get both of our peoples out!" I was yelling again, because she expected me to be as selfish as her.
"Well, if you are going to be this way, I'll leave you." Lexa said turning away. I walked over to the horse and got on.
"Go."
