Fear. That's all I felt as I walked through the streets of Phiandville, taking in the sounds and smells. It smelt slightly of cigarette smoke, mixed with the crisp autumn air of mid September. There was a slightly muffled noise that came from the alley beside me as I quickly walked home.
'Why are you so stupid, Rose? Why did you have to walk home on this very day?'A little voice in my head said.
Today was the day all the gangs on the east coast were able to roam and commit any crime they wished. It was essentially the purge but only for authorized gang members. BOOM! I heard the loud gunshot only a few meters behind me, making me pick up my pace and walked as quick as I could without drawing any attention.
'Rose, you are so stupid. You know that? Out of all the days you could have walked, you picked today!' The voice said again.
Just as I was about to respond to the voice, a large black SUV appeared next to me. Being the naive girl I am, I stopped to look over at the SUV. As I paused, the car door bursted open and a large, buff man reached out to grab me. I went into shock, as he pulled me into the car and slamming the door. I tried my hardest to get out of my shocked state, but my body remained still as if I had lost control of it.
I was seated in between two very buff men. I couldn't see, due to the fact that the man that grabbed me blindfolded me as soon as I got into the SUV, blocking my sense of sight. There was no speaking, but it smelt like cigarettes and sweat. The silence continued, rising an uncomfortable feeling in my stomach.
"Uhm, excuse me sir, may I ask you a question?" I turned to the man that was too my right and poked at him, gaining his attention.
"What do you want, sweetheart." He answered in a bored tone. His voice was raspy, as if he had just woken up.
"How much longer?" I replied, not trying to sound whiny or pushy.
"Well, by the looks of it. We're already here," he replied before the driver took the keys out of the ignition.
I felt hands grab onto my waist, pulling me out of the car. When I landed in the ground, I felt rubble underneath my feel. As I was about to reach out to grab onto someone, a pair of hands wrapped around my shoulders and moved me forward. I couldn't tell where we were going until I heard a door opening. I was pushed inside, almost causing me to face plant into the floor if it wasn't for my hands not being tied down. I pushed my self up off of the ground and reached up to my blindfold.
As I took off the blindfold, I saw a breathtaking house. The walls were a light cream color with a lot of portraits decorating it. There was a large black leather couch in the center of the room, along with a large flat screen mounted into the wall. I felt my feet move from under me, curious to see more. I followed the small hallway which lead to a few steps. As I walked up those steps, I noticed the smell that must have been coming from the kitchen. It smelt like Alfredo, but not just any Alfredo. Homemade extra cheesy fettuccine Alfredo, my favorite.
I followed where the scent was coming from, leading me to the kitchen. I saw a lady standing there with another girl who looked to be my age. I took a few steps closer to them and spoke.
"Excuse me," I asked in a quiet tone.
The lady turned around with a big, bright smile on her face. She squeals making the girl my age turn around as well. They were both gorgeous. The lady had thick, curly hair while the younger one had blonde, straight hair but with a lightly similar facial structure.
"Oh my goodness, Acacia look at her! She's gorgeous," the lady said looking my way.
I spun to see who she was looking at when I heard a little giggle. I turned back to them to see the lady smiling and the girl laughing.
"She was talking about you. I'm Acacia and welcome to my humble adobe," the girl introduced, sticking out her hand for me to shake.
I stuck my hand out and spoke quietly, "I'm Primrose, it's nice to meet you and thank you, it's beautiful."
The lady then sighed and I turned to look at her.
"I'm Dana, Acacia's mother. It's so nice to meet you Primrose!Have you met Alessandro yet, dear?" The lady asked.
As soon as she said that name, a little chill went down my spine. I shook my head and she gently grabbed me, dragging me off to some part of her beautiful home. She stopped in front of big white door which seemed to be the door to a study. She pushed open the doors and inside sat five men. I recognized one of them as the one that grabbed me. I looked at all their faces before my eyes landed on the one sitting on top of the desk.
His dirty blonde hair was styled up, not a piece of hair out of place. He looked tall, compared to my height of 5'1. I then made my way to his eyes, those deep, emerald eyes. They were so sharp, it looked as if they were peering into my soul. Once I brought myself to finally look away from his eyes, I noticed his smirk.
"Sweetheart, this is Alessandro and his men." Dana introduced before my eyes widened.
I was kidnapped by the Night Wanderers.
