The party at Harry Styles' house was a definite go, as Riverbank's football team had yet again won their Friday night football game, putting them in the running for state champions. Personally, a heteronormative party with drunk fúckboys grinding with pretentious skanks didn't sound pleasing to Zayn, but the fact that Liam himself had invited him made going all-the-more worth it.
Zayn had his fair share of sleepovers with his fellow cheerleaders and even a few get-togethers, but an actual party was new to him. Unlike his outgoing best friend, Zayn preferred to stay away from his peers on the weekends and steered clear of any parties. He already had to see the fúckers five days a week.
Before the two could hit the town, Perrie was insistent that they bring some alcohol to the party. The two were parked outside of Zayn's driveway in Perrie's car. The blonde shifted the gear into 'park' and crossed her arms.
Zayn arched his perfectly plucked eyebrows at Perrie. "What are you doing? We can only be so late for it to be considered fashionably late."
"We're not going anywhere until you sneak into your mother's minibar and steal a bottle of cherry schnapps," she explained. Perrie usually got her way and this wasn't going to be an exception.
"You want me to do what?! You know my mother's only a social drinker. She'll notice if something is missing!" Being a cheerleader, money was already tight for Zayn's widowed-mother as is. Alcohol wasn't cheap and she'd rip him a new one if some of it were missing.
She sighed. "None to worry. I get paid tomorrow and I'll ask my older brother to buy a new bottle at the liquor store before your mother even notices." Damn was Perrie good at persuading people.
Zayn fidgeted his fingers and bounced his leg nervously. "I just- I don't know Perrie... Can't we just buy some cheap beer at the Safeway on 5th avenue? They don't card people." He then fetched his wallet from the pocket of his jeans. "Look, I've got ten bucks. I'll even pay for it."
The blonde grabbed the crisp ten-dollar bill out of Zayn's hand and looked at him in utter disgust. "Beer? Are you delusional? Hun, athletes like ourselves can't afford to have beer guts. Besides, only trashy people bring beer to a party."
Zayn pursed his pouty lips and frowned. "Then if that's the case, give me back my dollar, bitch."
Perrie shook her head. "Go get the alcohol and you can have your money back." She held the ten-dollar bill up high and mocked him by saying, "Hurry up now, Zaynie, Alexander Hamilton right here is waiting."
"Fine," he groaned as he hopped out of the vehicle and jogged back into his house. While stealing the bottle from his mother's minibar, guilt was eating Zayn up. He knew ever since his father passed away, his mother would drink with her friends as a coping mechanism. She worked hard every day to keep a roof over his head and pay for his cheerleading expenses. Wow, Zayn looked like a total jackass now that he thought about it.
By now, it was already too late to second-guess his decision as he had already returned to Perrie's car and they were driving off to Harry Styles' house on the other side of town. Zayn hadn't really known Harry that well. He never harassed Zayn like a majority of the football team, but he didn't go out of his way to be nice either.
"So, what's the game plan tonight? Do you need to use my car to fúck Liam, or would you prefer somewhere more comfortable?" asked Perrie with enthusiasm and intrigue as they neared the party.
If Zayn had any water in his mouth, he would've spat it out. Though, he did choke a little on his spit. "What?! This is news to me? I didn't know him inviting me to a party meant a one-way ticket into my pants?!"
