Her eyes narrow as they fall on their next target, hearing a noise in the next room her ears flick back.
'Not far away, but enough time to get in, deal with the target, and get back out without being seen. Backup plan... take the target with me,' she thought to herself.
Slipping one paw into the hall she started walking silently, her large blue tail swaying gently behind her.
'If I approach from behind, they won't have a chance.'
Rustling in the next room caught her attention for a moment, her movements sped up as thoughts of being located clouded her mind.
So close now, she can almost touch them, but she mustn't move yet or else she might be detected. Another sound, a door opening this time.'Do it now, take the target and go!' her mind screamed.
She leapt through the air, long legs and arms moving like fluid as she grabbed the target. She landed and rolled. Footsteps in the large room shook her concentration.
'No time to run! Do it here, screw the consequences!'
Her sharp teeth sank into the soft flesh of the target. Crunching occurred as her teeth met resistance, a scream echoed, but it was just a din to her as she focused on what was between her teeth. A mix of saliva and something darker - warmer - ran over her chin. She kept biting, getting red all over her muzzle.
'What are you doing!?" a deep voice boomed.
Her head turned, her emerald eyes, flecked with gold, met his silver ones.
Her mouth was still full, so only muffled noises could be heard in reply.
'Flit! That's my pie! You have to share!'
Flit managed a loud noise of protest before scrambling to her feet, pie still in her jaws, to run out of the dining room.As the sounds of claws went skittering out of the room, the owner of the pie sighs heavily.
'The hour of departure has arrived, and we go our ways: pie to die, and I to live. Which is better? Only God knows,' he said, loud enough for fits of laughter to be heard from the next room, followed by the very obvious sounds of someone choking on a mouth full of food.
