Bruised Banana Love

The warehouse is flung open and in charges several of the Ice Dragons' men. Instantly, I reach into my bra and take out my small knife, while everyone including Chou turns around. I take this chance to jump on him, kick his whip out of his hand, and hold my knife to his throat. "Move and you're dead" I hiss next to his ear. His Adam's apple nervously moves up and down. I can see that he's breaking out into a cold sweat.

Chou's men weren't prepared for an ambush, so Soryu and his men had this place secured in a flash. Samejima and Inui come up to me and Chou. "Princess! Are you all right? We'll take it from here!" Inui takes over my position and handcuffs Chou. Samejima leads him away. As soon as Chou and the rest of the men were secured, Soryu comes running towards me, and I to him. He pulls me roughly into a tight embrace. I inhale the familiar scent and bury my face into his broad chest. Back where I belong.

"Don't EVER do that to me again." His words are harsh, but his tone is gentle. "I'm sorry. But my plan worked didn't it? You got all the hints." I look up and give him a sheepish smile. He returns my smile with a slight smile of his own. "Of course. When you said you hated seafood I knew something was up" We both chuckle. He frowns slightly "Though those insults were harsh". "I'm really sorry! I didn't mean any of it! I'll make it up to you...please forgive me" I pout and give my sulkiest look. He ruffles my hair with his large hand and smiles "It's hard to stay mad at you when you make that face. You're forgiven".  He instantly frowns again when he finally notices the condition i'm in, and gently brushes my hair out of my face. "Where does it hurt? Tell me." His concerned yet demanding tone instantly stops any of my attempts to brush him off. 

I sigh and reluctantly give in. "My head hurts like hell. I feel like a bruised banana." He knits his eyebrows together before sighing and gently strokes my cheek. I close my eyes to savor the moment, but it was once again quickly interrupted.

Mamoru shows up behind Soryu. "Yo. Ahh~ So troublesome. I'll take it from here" Kishi says while lazily puffing on his cigarette. Soryu just nods in his direction. "The police are on their way, you should gather your men and leave". Soryu gives a quick nod again in agreement and turns his attention back to me. "Can you walk?" I was in the middle of of saying 'i'm fine' before he scoops me up in a princess carry. "At least let me protect you and take care of you while i'm here now." My face starts to feel hot. "Soryu... but they'll see us..." I whisper embarassedly. He looks down at me with gentle eyes. "You come first. I promised to always protect you". My heart flutters and I blush even harder. 

His strong arms held me all the way to the car, where he ever so gently placed me in the passenger seat. "Everyone take a different route home" he ordered. "Yes sir!". We leave the warehouse just as we hear sirens wailing in the distance. 

We drive in silence for a while. It's not awkward, rather it was peaceful and comforting. We take a longer route home, and I guess my body finally gave out and I dozed off in the car. 

I wake up to someone gently shaking me awake. "...hmm...? Soryu?" I rub my groggy eyes and open them to see that i'm still in the car. "We're home Sakura." I smile meekly at Soryu, who holds out his hand to help me out. We slowly make our way back to his apartment, me leaning slightly on Soryu for support, and his hand wrapped around my shoulders, holding me close to him. Mm he's so warm. 

He gently sets me down onto the couch. "Stay right here. I'll be right back" I see him quickly walk to the bathroom. I grab the nearby blanket laid across the arm of the couch, and snuggle myself in. Hehe. It smells like Soryu. I still feel drowsy and the blanket is tempting me back to dreamland. A moment later, Soryu is back with his first aid kit. "Really, i'm okay!" I protest. I really did feel fine. He ignored my objections and continued to take out antiseptic and bandages from the kit. He dipped a cotton ball in antiseptic. With a worried but concentrated look on his face, he faces me. "This might sting a little. I'm sorry if it hurts. Just bare with me". 

I wince at the stinging sensation as he cleans my head wound. "Just a bit more. You're doing great, Sakura". I can see my discomfort is making him anxious. Aww, he he's just so cute right now. I try to smile to show him that i'm okay. "Alright, all done. Does it feel okay?" he says as he finishes putting a bandage on the wound. "It feels like its getting better already. Thank you." I beam at him. "Don't feel so much like a bruised banana anymore?" We both laugh. 

As the laughter dies down, our eyes meet and our gaze deepens. He leans in closer, inching his face closer to mine. My heartbeat quickens. My breath coming faster. I close my eyes in anticipation -- he brushes his lips ever so lightly over mine, as if testing the waters to see if i'm really alright. I hungrily try to kiss him back, but he pulls away slightly. I mew in disappointment, and he chuckles. "Not so fast my bruised banana. Bath first." He takes my hand and leads me to the bathroom. He looks back and I give him an unsatisified pout. I walk into the bathroom in a huff, but instantly surprised as I notice that he's already drawn the bath for me. He even put in my favorite bath bomb! I can't stay mad at him... he's too considerate. I love you Soryu. As he turns around to leave, I rush to the doorway to catch him by the tails of his jacket. "...Thank you." He turns around and faces me. "You're welcome. Take as long as you need and relax." He smiles and ruffles my hair again before walking away. I close the door and enjoy the bath filled with Soryu's affection for me.
