It was our group singing competition day. We were prepared for it, but before getting on to the stage we motivated each other by cheering one another. We were satisfied with our performance. But now, we were in pressure because of the group dance competition. Our house had not yet begun their practice and only one day was left for the competition. We were in need of one dancer as well. So they asked me to dance with them. I was never a dancer but I didn't want to deny this opportunity as it was once again a chance to be around her. We practiced during school hours then later decided to meet up at Yashaswi's place in the evening.
It rained heavily that eve but still we kept a hold on our practice. Everyone had arrived except her. I tried contacting her through internet but found her offline. She had left me a message before that asking whether there is a practice or not.
After a while, I saw her driving towards us on her vehicle with brown patterned attire, black jeans and a raincoat on it. Her hair was left free and they were wet. Raindrops flowed through her cheeks. She looked stunning.
I realized three things that night:
1. She cannot handle her vehicle. She'll kill someone someday because of her driving.
2. Her family is quite strict and she's scared of her elder brothers. Actually she respects every person of her family so she can never go out of their way.
3. She looks beautiful with her untied hair.
(I knew I loved her, but was still struggling with my past. I was scared to take any step forward with her. I didn't want to hurt or lose her.)
The next day we somehow managed to perform well and each one of us gave their best. After the competitions, it was time for some fun so all the houses gathered together in the Library then moved to the Biology lab to shake and move to the beats. It was a great time.
I noticed her, enjoying with her friends. She was happy and also seemed to be satisfied with her performance. On the other hand, my love for her was growing with each passing day. We'd stopped interacting with each other at school because now there were no reasons left for us to meet. Internet had become our only medium to speak. Soon the results of the competitions were announced and our house came 1st in both the competitions. It was a very cherishing moment for each one of us. We congratulated each other. Later that night I asked her about how she felt when the results were announced and she told me that she felt like hugging someone tightly. I wished I was there with her that moment.
Our group planned to celebrate this victory by gathering at an ice cream parlor. It was a great time with all of them and at the end a happy moment playing water fight with her. She carried a small bottle of different colors to school. We emptied every bottle on each other.
Anindita used to come to school on a bicycle along with her friend, Nisha. So after the gathering they'd to go back to school then carry their bicycles and go home. So I told Nisha to take my vehicle till school, because I didn't trust Anindita's driving.
After all the competitions got over, I realized that now our meetings would also come to an end. That's when we were asked to sing for the Independence Day. So it was time for practices and she was going to be with me again.
My birthday falls on the 11th of August, so I knew along with those practice sessions they all were preparing something to surprise me. But her tests were on head so I didn't want her to waste and indulge time in all this, but somewhere in my heart I wished to be with her on my birthday.
(I was sure that my friends were planning a surprise for me through their talks and actions during the practices.)
