Ash, Trevor, Melody, Jace, and Merlinda entered the castle in that order. Terra came towards them. "How did it go?" She asks.
"Why don't you tell me?" Ash responded with a smile.
Terra smiled back, then looked at Merlinda.Merlinda turned away, and walked out towards the garden. Everyone exchanged looks. "I'll go talk with her." Jace said, but Melody stopped him.
"I think I should do it."
"Why is tha-
"Jace think about how she feels! You died by her powers. You might say it isn't her fault, but she won't believe it. Just let me do it." She heads towards the garden.
Terra came up to Jace just before he tried to follow them. "Let the girls talk it out. It doesn't go well when you do it." She walks him back to the others. "Let's get ready for dinner, shall we?"I was leaning on the balcony. The moon was at its brightest. Then, I heard a branch snap. "Jace, go away." I said.
"Darn, I was hoping you didn't hear me?" Melody said.
I turned around. "Melody, why are you-"
"Well, I was going to join Prince Trevor for dinner, but my best friend got all sad and stuff, and who can have dinner with that on their mind?" She said sarcastically.
I smiled. "You two are getting close."
She laughs. "Whatever you say."
I join her.We shared a few laughs together. Melody and I were both leaning over the balcony, looking at the moon that was now covered in clouds. "Merlinda?" Melody started. "Remember when we were younger?"
"Yeah." I said sadly.
"Things seemed so peaceful then, didn't they?"
"Don't forget fun."
She chuckled. "It was."
"Why do you ask about it, though?"
"That night...you know, and found out Nathan did it, I blamed myself for it."I looked at her, and see tears coming from her. "Melody, it wasn't-"
"Your going to blame yourself, but don't even say it. If I hadn't been the curious person I was, you wouldn't have saw me go after him, and follow me. Then, to supposedly make things better, Ash and I decided to change that memory."
My eyes widen. That's why I had those dreams. Because they are real events, that my mind wants me to remember.
"Things from that point have gotten worse, though. You've been sad, angry, and guilty, and worse of all, it's my fault for that."
"Melody, I had no idea you felt that way."
She wipes her tears. "Basically, you can't let the things that happen in the past get to you. I did, and now look at me. I shut out certain people because they were dragons. Now that I fell for one, I'm learning to let go. Don't shut out the world around you because of the fear the past left you with." She walks off.I thought about what she said, then I joined her. "Melody? Thank you."
"No problem."
"So...you and Trevor, huh?"
She blushed. "Oh, you heard that?"
"Really?"
"I guess that part just slipped out, but do me the favor of not letting him know that."
I laugh. "Sure."
"Good. Now let's go get some food. I don't know about you, but I'm starving."We both entered the dinning hall. Everyone looked at me. I returned with a comfortable smile. They did the same. I sat by Jace. Melody sat next to Trevor, and winked at me. I smiled. The table had fruit and vegetable trays, and in the center was a well cooked turkey. We began to eat. After dinner, Terra told us she had something to tell in the morning.
The morning came, and I was in my white top, brown pants, and black boots again. I took my necklace from under the shirt and looked at it. I hope you and father are doing well, mother. I wonder what you both would say to me if you were here, now. I let the necklace hang, instead of re-tucking it. Then, I left the room, and met everyone the hidden chamber.
"I'm glad you're here, Merlinda. Please, sit." Terra said. I sat between Melody and Ash. Jace and Trevor sat across.
Terra touched the hologram, and it showed a light wave that passed by the castle. "As you all know, the light waves Merlinda created have spread all trough out the world. By now, I'm sure they've hit there destination which means that the time is closing in on us. After tending my grandfather, I sent word to the others to wait for the waves. So, now they're on their way."
"Wait, what does this mean?" I ask.
"We're getting ready for war."
My eyes widen. War?The lights waves stretch to a distant mountain that caves in. A huge ball of light grew from within. The light grew brighter and brighter until a golden castle appeared. "The time for wait is over. The time for battle is coming." A female voice says.
