He was always a good kid. He always listened, was a good role model, and was fun to be around. When he was little his father trained him using swords, bows, staffs, any weapon available.
"Father? Why are you making me do this?" he asked. "You said you wanted to be one of the Queens knights, didn't you?" he nodded " This will help you become one."
Years later his father was drafted into the war between Dragons and Humans. He died a glorious death killing the dragon overlord Nhak Latok. Jal couldn't live with himself knowing his hero, his father was dead.
So he sought out the Grand Monk in his temple for wisdom. "You will complete your greatest wish" he said " But you must first find it".
Jal knew what he had meant. He ran all the way to the Glass Castle and approached the gate. "I wish to speak with the Queen." he said. The gates lowered and he ran to the throne room. "Your majesty" he said interrupting her current conversation. "I wish to be one of your knights" he said bravely. She smiled and said "Welcome to the Glass Castle."
