Chapter 1

*Nevaeh POV*

I walked down the hall of Carter Long High School on my way to my spanish class when I heard a familiar voice behind me. "Wassup bestie" my best friend La'trell said as he draped his arm on my shoulder. "Hey Trell, why aren't you in class" I said turning my head looking up at him. "The same reason why yo ass late to school" He said looking at me side ways. "Whatever man I woke up late" I said laughing a little. He took his arm from around my shoulder to look at the gold watch that was on his wrist. "Well looks like my bathroom break is over" he said making air quotes with his fingers. "Ok see you after this period" I said chuckling as he walked up the side stairwell.

I walked into my spanish class taking a seat next to my god sister Kayy. "Girl why you late" she asked me just above a whisper. I sat my book bag down on top of my desk while pulling my tardy pass out of my pocket. "I woke up late, gessh dont have a heart attack". Miss Harris do you have a tardy pass for me? Mrs.Geo said with her spanish accent while walking up to my desk. "Yes ma'am" I said as I placed the pass in her hand. She looked at it before walking back to her desk. I took out my notebook and my pen and begin taking notes as everyone else did. "Soooooooo did you see your boyfriend slash best friend" Kayy asked with the biggest smirk on her face. "Shut yo ass up, he is not my boyfriend" I said laughing a little. "Bitch please when that nigga looks at you he is practically drooling and be having those little heart eyes" She said chuckling while nudging me. I rolled my eyes smirking a little "Girl whatever Trell is my best friend and has been since the first grade. "Mhmmm that boy don caught feelings since the first grade Nevaeh" She said while jotting notes down in her note book. I sat there and thought about all she had just said. My best friend liking me more then just as his friend? I thought to my self, nah thats crazy Trell will never. I took the last bit of notes and before you knew it the bell ranged. Everyone stood up packing and stuffing things into there bag. My phone vibrated in my pocket and I wiggled it out as soon as i pulled my phone out Kayy took my phone out of my hands "Yea sure you can see my phone" I said sarcastically while taking my phone back. "Girl you got yo iPhone 6 already" she said semi yelling "Yea i went to go get my upgrade yesterday. I said while sliding the lock screen over entering my password. "My update needa hurry the hell up im tired of waiting" She said walking toward the class door. I threw my book bag on my shoulder while reading the text I received from La'trell.

Me: Ok damn im On my way!

I walked passed Kayy and out the door. "In a rush to go see yo best friend" she said doing air quotes while laughing. I rolled my eyes turning around facing her. "Kayy he just my bestie nothing more" She started down the hallway. "Mhmm see you later girl" I walked down the hall way in the opposite direction heading towards my locker. "Bout time" Trell said leaning back up against my locker with one foot on it. "If you don't get yo wanna be cool looking ass of my locker" I said laughing and playfully pushed him off. "Whatever just come on so our ass wont be late for gym" He said while dragging me down the hall by my hand.
As me and Trell walk down the hall laughing and talking my ex boyfriend Drake approached us. "Wassup baby girl" Drake said licking his lips giving me head nod. I sighed and rolled my eyes. "What do you want Drake" He smirked and looked me up and down. " I just wanted to say hey to you beautiful and let you know I miss you and I wanna get back together" I scoffed at the words that just came out of his mouth. "We are over for good" I said looking away from him. "Yo Veah, we needa get to class" Trell said with an annoyed expression. Drake looked Trell up and down. "You still this nigga best friend after he done broke us up" he asked still staring Trell down. "No we broke up because all yo hoeish ass wanted is sex and when I didnt wanna give it to you yo thot ass went out and start fuckin other bitches" I said yelling at him. At this point I felt all the anger and hurt I felt when I first found out, I know my face was red and I felt the tears getting ready to come. "Lets go" I said to Trell grabbing his arm and brushing past Drake. "Aye whats wrong Veah" Trell stopped me turning me around. He cuffed my face looking me in my eyes while the tears ran down my cheeks. "Don't cry over his pussy ass no way, he didn't deserve you" He said whipping the tears from my face. "You done crying over that nigga, you gone find someone better and worth yo time" He said while pulling me into a hug. Trell always know what to do and say to make me feel better, I guess thats one of the factors that makes him such a good best friend. "Okay" I mumbled as we made our way to the gym's double doors.
