Apocalypse Commander : Valdis

Background

'So when she upgrades her level, can Aron also sense it?' Valdis thought. Victor responded in her mind, "I informed him of it." Valdis hummed in her mind. Aron was nervous and did not know what to say, so silence filled the room.

After some time, Valdis broke the silence with a question. She was curious about the place Aron came from. So she asked him, "Tell me about the place you came from. What kind of World was it?"

Aron was shocked by her question and some unwanted memories started coming to his mind, making his facial features a bit twisted. Valdis saw this and realized that his original place should have some memories which he would like to forget. She was just going to say that it was ok, she was just curious when Aron calmed down and said, " I was born in a place called 'Purgatory'. Our world was simple. Neither technologically advanced nor good at magic or other things. But one day suddenly everywhere there were monsters.

At that time monsters started wreaking havoc and killed numerous people. Human's didn't have any technology or magic or cultivation to save themselves but there were warriors. After generations of fighting and certain benefits which chosen people obtained humans were able to create a safe place. In the safe place monsters were not able to enter and was able to rest and develop their strength.

But humans did not have any food left and growing crops became a rare thing with very less land on hand. So main food of humans became monsters. As time progressed few top warriors took a part of land as their own and others became their servants and those who didn't follow the rules were expelled from the place. As long as you want to survive you need to obey all their orders. There were five top warriors who inherited the opportunities of chosen ones which can keep this land safe and they always worked in tandem creating their cartel.

There were some common people and nobels appointed by then but most of others became slaves. Those who can fight had the opportunity to get promoted.

I was born outside the safe place. There was residents there who were expelled by the lords. They created their own living environment after fighting with the monsters continuously.

There were many such establishments outside and strong was respected. My parents were slaves so when I was born I was labelled as slave as well. For born slaves they were collectively trained and if they we have outstanding talent then we had chance to become personal guards and become commoner from slave. I worked hard but my talent was mediocre. Slaves were never allowed to contact their parents and when I was fighting with very high level monster and was on verge of death the system gave me the opportunity to join and I accepted.

Valdis was surprised hearing Aron's explanation it seemed like a completely different world where everyone was continuously fighting. She as a second generation was always well fed and prodigal she never thought and can't even imagine what it will be like to live their lives continuously fighting just for a chance to survive and struggle for food. She wanted to say few words to comfort Aron but realized she was not at all good at this and had no experience. She didn't have any idea how to comfort someone. Finally she let it go and asked Aron to rest. Aron nodded and left the room.

After Aron left the room Valdis asked Victor, "Are there many World's? Does all of them have different types of development?"

Victor responded, " Yes. There are world which are technologically advanced, some with martial arts, some where magic is supreme and many more. We summon people from these different World. In their World they should be at their life's end and if they chose to reject we look for other substitutes. Our system exchanges resources with the World's will to be able to summon them and also find's the best potential and loyal person to be summoned."

Valdis understood and nodded in response. Then she suddenly asked. "Will their be ancient World where our ancestors live? Is their any World where men are not afraid of women or are equal to women?"

Victor nodded then it remembered that Valdis can not see it so it decided to create a profile for it to interact with Supreme Commander. "There are ancient world where you can track your evolution but ancestors are not necessary. They will have different people then the ones recognized by you. There are also World's where true equality is achieved and also some where men are even dominant to women and women are afraid of them."

Valdis was surprised by what was said. She can never imagine how cute and petite creatures like men who were made to serve women be dominant to them. How can women be afraid of them. She remembered that in ancient times men even used to tie their necks tightly to cover their Adam's apple as that is one of the revealing parts of their bodies. Nowadays in the name of modernism many men do not even cover their necks and et their Adam's apple be exposed or some will even wear transparent cloth around their necks to seduce women making them curious about what is beneath it. She wondered what it will be like if ancient noble men came to her with properly covered, knelt in front of her servilely and said " I will only serve my Master and never show my face outsiders." 

Valdis felt wet just thinking about that scene. In fact as a women she also understood the psychology of other women. It was not that men had anything special on their bodies as all men were similar at the end. But the mystery behind hiding it and feeling of revealing the mystery behind the veil made it more enjoyable for women. It was human nature to love to trespass in forbidden areas. 

Valdis shook her head as if to shake out these thoughts out of her mind. She was going to upgrade her strength so she can protect her family and men in the future. She will also build the empire so that her friends can stay safe. As for future of zombie virus Valdis did not think of herself as savior of humanity. Because she had received the system she will try her best to protect her loved ones and as many as she can protect but beyond that will be in the hands of fate.
