Blood covered the walls and floor. The dark red color seeping into the pearly white walls like a vicious infection. The vile stench of blood and death laying thick in the air trapped within the bedroom. A strong taste of metallic dripping from my rosy lips and cascading down my chin. And yet, I wasn't bothered by my senses. I slowly scanned the once pure bedroom of yet another Alpha victim in search of life, but found none. A small drop of joy stained my emotionless personality as the bloody corpse of the Alpha and his Luna laid in pieces on the wood floor. I had completed my mission, I had pleaded the Master.
Satisfied that my work was complete, I trusted my blade back into my belt loop before moving to pick up my bow and arrows. Silently, I slipped on my bow across my chest and collected the 13 arrows I had released. Seven of which never made their target. Though I had mastered the art, one can never predict a rampaging Alpha's movements during a battle of life or death. The remaining six however had to be pulled out of the lifeless body of one unrecognizable Alpha. I huffed in annoyance as the tip of one of the arrows had been chipped, most likely preserved in one of the rib cages of the dead man.
I grinned softly as I knew what had to be done. Time was running out; dawn was soon approaching and when day broke the rest of the pack would come for their alpha. So I quickly ripped open the cotton shirt stained with his blood and plunged my gloves into his rib caged. Tracing along each rib cage for the one that contained the tip of my arrow, I find a soft indent in one of the ribs and grab it roughly. Then, I ripped it straight out of his chest. Rule number three of the code of slayers; never leave any evidence at a slaying. Light suddenly streamed into the bedroom, illuminating the horrors that had taken place in the sleeping quarters.
"Time to go." I growled softly before tying the rib into my belt loop and fleeing over the balcony ledge. I would have to dig out the tip back at head quarters.
I landed without a sound, rolling carefully over one shoulder before breaking into a dead sprint into the thick Forrest surrounding the pack's compound. Early morning granted me just enough light to bound through the unfamiliar terrain without fail, gaining enough speed on the forest floor before leaping into the canopy above. From then on, I would use the branches and trunks of the maple trees to fling myself forward, towards the two day journey back to the Master for supplies and my next assignment.
Mission 247; complete.
