Is the year human raise invented the "Soulmate Timer"
Over the passed decades of life before us, around the early 2000, people suffered of heartache. From this time the government took it upon themselves to gather all the smart people in the whole world. For them to work together to come up with a formula to stop all the broken hearts in the world. They had a lot of trial and error until they found the perfect one in 2033. From there on, to pass it around the world they (goverment) injected it into the water source. Ever since no more heartbreak happened, the divorce rate dropped to 0% and no more cheaters.
But there is a flaw, you have a timer on your right wrist telling when you're meeting your soulmate. You just don't know where or who it will be.
After reading the history of the "Soulmate Timer" I got up from the library to leave. Saying goodbye to the nice old librarian. I just couldn't stop thinking how the government would do such a thing to end something so stupid in my opinion. People are still going to reject there soulmates just to go against the government because they don't belive in other people choosing who they should be with.
That reminds me I haven't even checked my timer, 1:0--- "NIALL!!!!" I heard a scream from the other side of the street I was walking on.
As I turned around I just had enough time to look who it was before they came tumbling into me.
"Ugh" I groaned from beneath Harry.
"What do you want Harry!" I exclaimed with pain "And get off of me, you big bear"
"Sorry, sorry it's just I got to meet my soulmate today, you know, I was minding my own business when I got a craving for some coffee and so I saw a Starbucks up ahead and I'm was like 'oh look Starbucks' so I'm walking in all casual and whatnot, I ordered my drink and I get my dri---"
"Harry does this story have an end?!" I sassed
"Well if you wouldn't have interrupted me I would of already finished!" He sassed back at me.
"Just, ugh, go on" I said annoyed already.
"Okay, so I get my drink and when I turn around I didn't see that a person was already there waiting to order and that was when I spilled my drink all over him and when I looked into his eyes, my timer and his both stopped at 0:00:00 and converted into this! Look!" (Pictured on the side)
"Omg Harry that's so beautiful I hope when I meet my soulmate ours will be has beautiful"
"Uhh I forgot to tell you he invited me to a date but he's bringing a friend and well...it's more like a double date but I kinda...need someone to bring with for his friend and I was thin---" I interrupted him there.
"Harry absolutely not you know how I fe--" I angry said at him for even thinking I can be a possibility.
"I know, I know. You don't want to date no one because you will feel like you're cheating on your soulmate but it's just one date Niall and his friend is really cute. C'mon Niall please, please, please, plea--" I cut him off.
"Fine! Just stop talking. By the way, what's your soulmates name?" I raised an eyebrow at him since never in his gigantic story did he ever mentioned a name.
"Oh I almost forgot, well not really because he's handsome as f!ck but really I think he's more in the gorge--"
"Just tell me his name!"
"Zayn!" He screamed scared by the voice I was using.
"Okay at what time is the date and where?" I questioned him as we started to finally walk to my flat up ahead.
"It's actually in 30 minutes...so yeah" he grinned shyly at me. As we stepped into my flat.
"Harry are you kidding me, it's in 30 minutes and you are just telling me this!!!" I said as I sat down on my sofa.
"Sorry...but I just got so caught up in getting ready and looking hot for Zayn that I forgot to mention in before to you. Don't be mad." He stepped away from me.
"I'm not but I guess jeans and a t-shirt for me has to do" I said to him as I got up once again to grab my keys and wallet.
"It's okay, it's more a casual double date than anything. Oh and by the way his friends name is Louis, okay?"
"Okay Harry, just get into the car while I lock the front door"
As he skipped to the car like the little sh!t that he is. I took the time to look at my wrist to see how much time I had left until I meet my soulmate.
00:3-- "Niall, c,mon we're already running late" Harry screamed from the window of the car.
"I'm coming, I'm coming hold your horses" I jogged to the driver seat drive to the restaurant.
••••Skipping car ride because nothing exciting ever happens in car rides••••
Has I pulled up the "The Green Meadow" (made it up) Harry wouldn't stop shaking with nerves in the passage seat.
"Harry don't worry about it, he's your soulmates. That means that you're perfect for each other already, all this date is going to do is bump up your sexual tension the two of you have between each other." I said to him to calm him down as we got off and walked to the entrance.
"Wait!? How did you know we had sexual tension if we haven't been in the same room as you?" He exclaimed to me with such an amazed look on his face.
"Oh started reading the soulmate books again on how it all started and how it will be when you meet your soulmate and everything, blah blah blah. You know the usual." I said as I opened the door to him of the restaurant.
"That remind me. How much time do go have until you see yours?" He said as he tried to get my wrist to see the time.
I yanked my hand back and read it to him. "It says 00:1--"
"HARRY!" a voice exclaimed from across the restaurant.
"Look there over there. Let's go" Harry dragged me to where only one person sat alone. I looked around confused as to where his friend Louis was.
"Hi, you must be Niall. I'm Zayn and Louis just went to the restroom he should be out in a bit" Zayn said apologetic.
"It's okay, I'll wait" I told him with a tight smile.
As time went by, first 5 minutes, then almost 10 minutes. The Louis guy never showed up. Zayn and Harry are just flirting in the corner of the booth, I couldn't take it anymore and decided to leave.
As I was getting up I crashed into a hard chest and fell on my butt.
"Sorry! Sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going and I was lost in the restau--" he caught off as I looked at his beautiful blue eyes and that's when my eyes traveled to his wrist and I saw the 00:00:00 change into a bright sun.
As I got up and looked down at my right wrist I say that the timer wasn't there anymore but was replaced as the moon. Making both mine and his the one for the other.
It's wasn't uncommon for soulmates to have different tattoo but it wasn't seen much nowadays. I guess that makes ours unique and I love the idea of that.
As the date when on, with stories and jokes about how Louis got lost on purpose. Our life's got better and better.
Until one day it got great.
December 25th, 2093
Everything fell into place after we, as in Louis and I, opened our gift only for Louis to tell me there was one more.
4 little words changed our lives forever.
They where;
"Will you marry me?"
