For me writing is hard. I get all these ideas (and some might even be good), but the ideas come to me mostly in dreams. It's like watching a movie, but only seeing like 10 minutes of the middle of the movie. It's really frustrating. Although what is more frustrating is when I try to take one of those ideas and make them in to a story, I end up getting stuck on a detail that I know doesn't even matter to the story at all.
For example, I had one story that a girl loves her best friend but they loose touch because he's 3 years older and moved away for a job. They eventually get back in touch and have a one night stand. She finds out she is pregnant, but doesn't tell him right away because she knows that he doesn't love her. She gets like 3 jobs to put money away for when the baby does come. There's going to be more drama and stuff, but my point was that I got caught up in trying to work out her schedule, her jobs, her pay, what she would need for rent, food,bills, baby things.
I focused so much on that, that I lost the story. I know I do it but I cant seem to stop and it's just really vexing. As of now I have somewhere around 20 different ideas, and I doubt I'll ever make them in to real stories.
