Next book idea is..... Lorekeepers. it's a little hard to explain, so I'll just let you read the first chapter for yourself. Enjoy!

I push open the door to the library, the bell above me chiming softly. The man working at the check out station waved to me. He had dark grey-blueish eyes, untamed brown hair, and a tendency to annoy people. His name is Jonathan. He goes to the same school as me, but just a grade up. We have a class together, and we see each other after school some days.

"Hey! Lizzie! Over here!" I walk over to Jonathan, careful not to bump into any of the chairs and tables everywhere. I just got a summer job working at the library to raise money so I can get my own car, and today is my first day. I'm kinda nervous, but my mom says if I want my own car I need to make my own money to buy it.

"I told you, it's Elizabeth, not Lizzie. I only let me friends call me that."

"Oh, am I not your friend? I am hurt. Really, really hurt."

I sigh. "Just show me what I need to do, okay? Congratulations on your promotion, lieutenant Sarcasm."

Now Jonathan sighs. "Okay, but, since we're a little understaffed, you might need to do more than just check books out."

I nod. "Okay, that's fine. I understand."

"Good. Now, this place is large, so you might want to get a map. It's literally a maze of shelves back there, so be careful. Um, so, everything is arranged by genre, than by the author's name, alphabetical of course, so then the books by that author, if there's more than one, are arranged by alphabetical order. Actually quite simple, once you get the hang of it. Then you have the Book Nook cafe, where people can read, write, listen to music, and do other stuff like that while eating and drinking. More stuff on that later. The other thing you're going to be doing is checking out and putting back books. We'll start with that."

I look at the door that lead to the Classified section. "What's that?" I ask. Jonathan looks over at me. "Oh, that's where we keep all the really old books. Since people aren't allowed to take them home, they just request them, read them here, then we put them back. Simple! But you aren't allowed to go in there. Anyway, you need a key to get in. Now, let's get a bite to eat before everyone starts coming in." We headed towards to Book Nook cafe, where I happily take a coffee and a bagel. I

Okay, so, this place is huge. Jonathan had me help someone find a book, and it took me three wrong turns, two people telling me where to go, and one map which I almost immediately ripped apart to get back. And they get hundreds of people here daily. This is going to be a long summer. And by the way, they have more than a thousand books in here. There's an entire second floor filled with books. It's the largest library around this little part of Florida. Well, it's pretty much the biggest one in the United States, except of course the Library of Congress.

I flop down on my bed, phone in hand. I quickly call my best friend Jennifer, and grab a piece of chocolate. Munching on it, I wait for her to pick up. She normally picks up on the first or second ring, so when she doesn't it kinda worries me. But she's probably just at her martial arts class.

Man, today sucked. After getting lost in the maze of shelves, Jonathan had me work at the checkout area all day. Pick up the book, scan it, put it back. Pick up the book, scan it, put it back. Repeat a couple hundred times. That's what I did all day. All day. And of course some of the books were really heavy. The repetitiveness didn't help either. By the time lunch break rolled around, I was sick of scanning books. But I really want a car, so I need the money.
