Day 4: Wendsday

In the morning, I get ready for school and skip breakfast. I sit in the living room and watch some tv. "Athena, is something wrong?" Dad asks kind a worried tone.
"I'm fine. I'm just not hungry." I say.
Dad looks at me with a frown and goes back into the kitchen. My phone starts to ring and I answer it. "Hello. Who's this?" I say.
"Its me, Adam. I was wondering if you want me to take you to school Today." Adam says in his usual happy tone.
"Sure, why not."
I don't feel like walking today and I can't drive so, Adam can take me. "Are you at your dad's house?" He asks knowing my situation with my parents.
"Yes, I'm with my dad."
"Okay. See you later."
He hangs up the phone and I lie back on the couch. After a few minutes, the doorbell rings. Since the front door was closer to the kitchen, dad answers it. "Hey, pops. I haven't seen you in a while." Adam says.
"What brings you here,Adam?" Dad asks still clueless of the fact that I even broke up with him.
"I'm here to pick Athena up."
I go to the front door and wave at dad. "Bye, dad. Off to school I go." I say.
"Well, see you guys later." Dad says going back to the kitchen.
I close the door and Adam smiles at me. I get into Adam's car and Adam gets in after me. He pulls out of the driveway. "So, did the school change since I left?" Adam asks.
"Not much. Are you going to rejoin the football team?"
"I plan to."
We stop talking for a few seconds. I'm starting to remember why I didn't want to get back together with him. I can't talk to him as easily as I talk to Miles. "How's your friend Ashley?" Adam asks.
"She's fine, but I think she hates you now." I say with a giggle.
We finally make it to school. Eveyone is getting ready for prom and graduation. I forgot all about the project I have to do with Ashley. I get out the car an run to the art room. Adam follows me looking confused.
Ashley is sitting at one of the tables and tapping her pencil on a sketch book.
"Hey...Ashley. I'm here to help," I say sitting down next to her.
"Now you want to help? Where were you?" Ashley says frowning.
I can't tell her I went dress shopping without her. She would be so mad at me. I smile sweetly at her. "Well... I was helping my little brother with his homework." I say.
"Athena, that's a lie. You're staying with your dad right now."
This is bad. She knows me too well. The door to the art room opened and Adam comes in shyly smiling. I couldn't help but giggle. "Wait. You got back together with Adam? I thought you said you hated him." Ashley says with a surprised look.
"Ashley, you sound like you don't want to see me. That's so cruel." Adam says with a fake frown.
"Adam, let me talk to her. Alone." I say pointing to the door. Adam frown for real this time and leaves the room. Ashley looks at me and crosses her arms. "When did this happen?" She asks.
"Well, I was going to say no, but I looked into his eyes and lost all My senses." I say, " then he kissed me and I couldn't say no. I think I still have feelings for him."
Ashley sighs and puts her hand over my hand. "Must be hard. To have to pick between two guys you love. But, you have to pick one. Even if you have to lose one." Ashly says.
"Miles wasn't even mine in the first place. Why should I even try to win his heart?"
I almost forgot the reason I am still alive. I remember Zeus' words clearly. If I don't win Miles' heart by Saturday at midnight, I would go back to Olympus for the rest of eternity.
I forgot that I wanted to be with Miles. I look up at Ashley.
"I have to go. There's something I have to do." I say leaving the room.
I run down the hall to find Miles' club room. The is no classes today. Just clubs and committees. I find the gym and walk into the double doors. Miles is setting the snack tables for prom. I walk up to him and he turns around.
At that moment I had an idea. I grab him by his shirt and kiss him. I don't know what I'm thinking but, it will get him to think about me. I let him go and run out of the gym. I don't look back to see if he came after me. I run all the way to the roof of the school. I lean against the fence exhausted. Why in the hell did I do that?
I start to regret that I even kissed him. He has a girlfriend. I sigh. "Athena? What was that for?" Miles asks standing by the door.
"W-What was what for?" I say trying to act clueless.
Miles walks up to me and puts his hands on my shoulders. "The kiss. Why did you kiss me?" Miles says.
I look down feeling embarrassed. I obviously can't tell him why. I'm too nervous. "It was just a dare. If I didn't do it I would have to do something really embarrassing." I lie.
"That's a lie. If you're gonna lie, look me in the eyes."
I really need to practice my lies. I look up at him and feel my face burn. My face is probably really red. "I-It was a d-dare. I promise." I say trying to lie.
Miles frowns at me. I really can't lie. It only works on my parents. "Tell me the truth,Athena. Why did you kiss me?" Miles says.
I have to tell him or he won't let me go. It might work out for me too. "W-well... I kissed you because I have f-feelings for you." I say.
Miles gets completely silent. My heart is beating so fast and loudly that I hope Miles doesn't hear it. I quickly regret saying those words. "What? Are you serious? How could I have known that?" Miles asks.
"I made it quite obvious! How could you not have known? How oblivious can you get?" I says a little angry.
I made it so clear that I am interested in him and he doesn't find out till I tell him. That makes me feel a little mad. Miles runs his hand through his hair and sighs. "Maybe I'm interested in you too." He says.
