Tears trickling down my cheek. Run! Sahara! Run! My mom's words echoed in my mind repeatedly. Leaves and twigs crunches as I stomped them with my feet. I pushed my legs harder and harder. The last thing I would do is to stop. I'm running through the trees in the dark. Getting swallowed up in the darkness. No clue where to go.
They're getting closer, my mind screamed . My heart racing, and my blood rushing in me. I can feel dampness on my shirt. The dampness of blood. Adrenaline rush came over me. I ran and ran.
Bang! Gun fired again.
They're gaining at me! As I ran, my eyes searching the woods. I looked behind me, founding nobody. I stand corrected. I saw shadows and rays of light moving. I have to hide, I thought. Then to my right, i saw a group of trees, and bushes (good enough to hide in). I changed course to my right, and ran to the bushes.
I crouched my body behind the bushes. My heart is thumping is so hard that i can hear it. I sat there catching my breath. I looked down, seeing the blood smeared on my shirt, and my silver necklace covered with it. My hand grasped around the pendant. Mom, I whispered. I close my eyes, remembering what had happened back there.
Choking with tears, I stared up at the sky. God, if you are real, please help me. Please, help me get out of here. Please take me somewhere safe, I prayed.
"She must be here somewhere!" A man's voice called out.
I kept quiet. Breathing in and out. Slowly, releasing and intaking small amount of air. I can hear their feet crunching up the leaves on the ground.
"Little girl, come out, come out wherever you are!" Another man's voice called out. He laughed with a malicious tone. I squirmed down the bushes, trying not to be seen. I could see through the dots in the bush. Both men carrying guns and flashlights. As they shone their lights to each other, revealing their clothes; covered with blood. Their faces with rage. They're laughing physcotically.
Sahara, run. A voice came out of nowhere. Run my child, run. I don't know why, but I followed what the voice had said. Slowly, I stood up watching the two physcotic men laugh. Then, I made a break for it. I ran and ran. Adrenaline rush came over again. I pushed my legs forward.
"There she is!" A man yelled.
I could feel them running after me. Zig Zag through the trees, a voice called out again. Like before, I did what i was told. I ran to my left.
Bang!
The bullet stuck a tree to my right. A bullet that could have ended my life. Then, i changed course to my right, and the same thing happened; a bullet struck a tree to my left. I kept running in zig zags.
Ahh! they screamed with anguish.
"shoot her!" the man told his partner.
"I'm trying! She won't stay still!"
I looked straight ahead, not looking back. I kept doing the same thing.
"Ughh! work you piece of crap!" The man had said. His voice sounded distant. I must be ahead of them. They stopped shooting. They must have ran out of bullets.
"You're lucky this time kid, but I will get you next time." He yelled. He laughed like a maniac, and his partner followed him.
I figured they stopped chasing me, but that still didn't stop me from running. I'm still fleeing....for my life. Up ahead, I see a spotlight, revealing the road. I kept running to it. The road is becoming closer and closer. A few feet away and.....stop.
Standing there,. catching my breath, while looking from my left to right; looking for passing cars. To my right, I found a phone booth. Yes, thank God.
Entering the phone booth, I dialed the first three numbers I could think of.... 9-1-1.
"Hello, what's yoor emergency?"
"Hello! Please help me! Someone's trying to kill me! Please help!
"Where's your location?"
"Whitefield forest. I'm on the road."
"May I ask who's calling?"
"Sahara....Sahara Knowles."
