Diagon Alley and then my first year at Hogwarts. I couldn't wait, I was going to make my parents proud; they died in order to save me and I wasn't going to let their memory go in vain. I walked into the kitchen of the Tonk's household, the house I was raised in, and greeted the people who have raised me -- Ted and Andromeda Tonks. They saved me and have kept me safe, but today was the start of my journey. I hugged them both and we walked outside, Andromeda hated to apparate inside the house; then after grabbing hands we all popped into the business of Diagon Alley.

This was the start of my journey. I was very lucky that my parents left everything they had to me, and this was how I planned on paying for everything when it comes to my schooling.

"Alrigt Emma, you have your list and your money; go on and get your things, the Weasley's are waiting for you at Flourish and Blotts. We need to take care of some things. Bye darling, love you!" Andromeda kissed my cheeks and Ted hugged me tightly and then they left with pop. I walked along the streets and looked for the road sign the pointed me towards the book store, and once I found the bookstore I ran smack into Ronald Weasley.

"Bloody hell! Watch where you're going!" Ron finally looked up and saw my face, which now had a red welt forming in the middle of my forehead.

"Oi! Ronald, watch your tongue, and say your sorry!" I heard Mrs. Weasley before I saw her, and once she saw me I was engulfed in a hug.

"Emma! It's so lovely to see you, is Ted or Andromeda with you?" I shook my head and informed them about how they left to take care of some business. We all bought our books and then walked towards Ollivanders, this was where my wand is located; I couldn't help but utter a small squeal. I entered the shop and saw an old man up on a ladder, he didn't even look at me when I heard, "Miss Rochestor, it is an honor to finally meet you."

As I tried different wands I began to feel discouraged, I had already tried four different ones. I sighed and handed the fourth wand back to Mr. Ollivander, it was then that his face lit up with a thought.

"Could it be? Oh, it must be!" I watched as the man ran to the ladder, climbed up, and pushed himself along the wall until he stopped. When he stopped moving he was in front of a single box lying on a shelf. He grabbed it and pushed ladder back to its original spot. He came down the ladder and brought the box to me.

"My young Rochestor, this wand has to be it." He opened the box and revealed a dark colored wand, I was drawn towards it and when I picked it up there was an almost eerie glow coming from around me; it was then that I heard two voices in my ear.

"I'm so proud of you darling." A woman's voice spoke this to me.

"You are a brilliant young witch." A man's voice spoke this to me.

This made me confused, but I chose to brush it off. I looked up at Mr. Ollivander, I smiled at him and that was when he put his hand on my shoulder and said this: "A 12-inch wand, a mix between good and evil. Holly, the rarest wood out there and the best wood to protect those who wield it. But the core is a very rare substance, the core is Thestral tail hair; only those capable of facing death are able to wield a wand with this at the core. The wand has chosen you, please be very careful with it."

I had boarded the train with Ron and the compartment we sat in ended up housing none other than Harry Potter. We talked most of the way there, and once we arrived at Hogwarts I realized we were travelling by boat. I personally loved water, it was calming and refreshing; better than its counterpart which is fire. I hated fire, fire took my house from me and even though it didn't kill my parents it was the reason for them not being buried.

Once we walked up the steps, we were stopped by a woman with cat-like eyes; she gave us a short speech and we filed into the Great Hall. She called our names one by one and placed a hat on top of everyone's heads. I didn't really pay much attention to the names, but I did pay attention to a couple.

"Seamus Finnigan!" A boy walked up to the stool and the hat started talking to him then yelled "Gryffindor!"

"Hermione Granger!" A young girl with bushy hair walked up to the stool, the hat was place on her head and then yelled the same as the Finnigan boy. A Malfoy boy was called up to the stool and the hat hadn't touched his and it had already bellowed out Slytherin, typical; Andromeda told me that he was her nephew though she doesn't speak with her family anymore. Soon Harry was called up to the stool and the hat took its time with deciding what was best for Harry, but ultimately it ended up yelling out Gryffindor as well.

"Emma Rochestor!" I was suddenly scared for my life. I walked carefully up to the steps and sat on the stool, then the hat was placed on my head.

"Hmmm. A Rochestor? I haven't had that name came by in a very long time, your father was in Slytherin and was a powerful wizard. Your  mother in Ravenclaw, a bright young witch. What to do with you... What to do..." I suddenly looked out at the Weasley children sitting at the Gryffindor table, and I thought to myself that I wanted to be with my friends, I wanted to be in Gryffindor in order to make my parents proud because only the bravest wizards and witches get put into Gryffindor.

"Well, if that is what you think and how you feel... it better be GRYFFINDOR!" The hat bellowed out and I ran towards the table containing my friends. I then watched as Ronald was placed into Gryffindor, but was there any doubt about that? Then we all began to eat from the gigantic feast before us, and it was then that I was tapped on the shoulder by a young boy.. what was his name... Sean? No...

"Hi, I'm Seamus Finnigan. Just thought I'd introduce myself properly!" He held out his hand and I shook it, telling him my name and that it was nice to meet him. It was then that he began messing around with his wand, trying to turn his water into rum; that was also when the cup blew up in his face. I immediately had a small hatred for him, playing with fire... that idiot. But I knew I couldn't hate him forever, because I had a small hunch that he was going to play a big part in my life.
