I park my car in front of Sams house. The door immediately opens and he is there. He probably heard me coming. I don't care, I just want to see his beautiful face again.
"Hey." I say as I walk up the porch. "Sorry, I'm late."
"Na, it's fine. We have plenty of time." he gives me space to come in. It feels warmer here, safer.
"Do you want something to drink?" he already has champagne set on the coffe table in the living room.
"Oh my gosh. Um, yeah, sure." my cheeks feel really hot. He hands a glass and grabs my hand.
"Come sit." he pulls me toward the sofa.
"You didn't have to do all this." I said.
"Cassandra, I wanted this to be special." he. . . said. . . my name. Special? Does he. . .
I take a big gulp of champagne. And another and another. Does champagne get you drunk? I dont know, I just feel a little dizzy.
"You okay?" he asks me. The dizziness is getting worse. Its now 11:30.
"Yeah, thats school for ya." what was he saying? Suddenly, I fall on the ground. It's like the time in the twin towers, asthe world slowly fades. The last thing I see is Sams foot.
*****************************************
I wake up in a dark place. Where am I? How did I get here? I need to get out! I was with Sam. What happened? I'm losing my head in here. I feel a cold floor and wall made of stone. I feel around some more and come to what feels like a bare mattress. I pull myself on and land on something and theres squeaks everywhere. Rats! I let out a scream. I have to get out.
"Help! Help me! Somebody please, anybody!" My throat is already sore and croacky and my head is pounding. Above me, a door swings open, letting in light I have to squint. I see stairs going down with a tall man at the top. He comes with big steps of his boots. He stands right in front of me and squats down. Oh my gosh! It's Sam. A releif runs through me. This isn't normal. I should be afraid and trying to find a way around him and out. But I'm not moving. I'm concentrated on jis face and how his beautiful blue eyes calm me. How his lips part with a perfect breathe. And every graceful and relaxing movement. I notice he has water in one hand and pills in the other. He puts it towards me.
"Drink." he demands. I gasp. He sounds so mean and demanding. It's terrifying. Knowing who he is and how he is.
"Why?" I whisper and move back a little. Then there was a slap on my cheek Half of my vision went black. He grabs my chin fiercely and close to his face.
"I said drink. Don't you ever disobey me." he pushes my face back, sending me face to face with the ground. "Drink."
I restore my strength and get up and take the pills. They are the same ones from last time with the headache pills. He probably already know I have a headache, from all I've been through. I took the water and gulped it all down. He took the cup and stood up. He walks across the room getting lost in the dark. The a light comes on from the light buld above. It's a little dim but enough to see the rest of the room. The matress beside me was bare and stained. The walls are cracked and also stained brown too. Futhermore, there is a little cofee table and two wooden chairs. One of the legs of the table are taped and broken. I feel like I wasn't the only one here. He turns around and stares me down. As if he wishes to kill me and slowly comes towards me. I shrink and crawl back until I feel the cold stone of the wall. He comes down near my face and looks deeply in my eyes. I take a deep breathe.
"Do you love me?" he asks. My breathe gets heavy and my blood is getting hot. I'm staring at the door to my freedom. But then I look into his eyes. "Do you love me?" he raises his voice. I don't want to say this but I do.
"Yes." his face leans in and his lips brush mine.
"Always." he gets up and leaves. He goes up the stairs and slams the door shut. I'm left with a dim light table and a matress with a toilet and sink in the far corner.
