We stopped at a few shops so Harry could get whatever groceries he needed for the house. As we waited in line for the last of the groceries, I found myself staring off out the window. A steady breeze blew snow off the rooftops across the street.
"Thank you so much," I heard Harry say to the cashier. Harry turned to me. "Okay?"
I shook from my daze and forced a smile at Harry. "Great. Where to next?"
He gave me a knowing smile as we made our way back to his car. "I thought since we had nothing planned for tonight I could take you... sightseeing."
I stared up at him as we shuffled through the snow. "Like Big Ben or the Tower Bridge?"
Harry shook his head. "Something like that."
We finally made our way to his car and put the groceries in the trunk. I turned and slipped into the car. Harry got in behind me and started up his car. We drove up the streets of London for a few minutes. Harry glanced over at me and grimaced.
"What?" I demanded, crossing my arms over my chest.
He shook his head and smiled. Suddenly he pulled over to the side of the road and did a U-turn into the right lane. I'm pretty sure that's illegal.
"Are you crazy?" I asked gripping tightly to the safety handle above my head.
Harry smirked a tad, glancing into his rearview mirror. "Possibly,"
I stared at him a moment before leaning back into my chair. A small smile crept into my face. He is such a dork. "Did you forget something?"
Harry glanced over at me before returning to the road. "I just need to make one more stop. I forgot where we're going we need to dress up."
I raised an eyebrow. "I don't have any nice clothes though."
Harry pulled down another street and swiftly and accelerated slightly. "I know, that's why I'm going to buy you something nice. You deserve it."
I shook my head instantly. "I don't take charity."
"It's not charity, it's just something to-"
"No Harry," I cut in. "You're not buying me anything."
Harry set his jaw slightly but kept driving towards the shops. "Fine."
I raised an eyebrow. "Fine? Then why aren't we turning around?"
He motioned down to his black jeans and button up navy blue flannel. "I still need new clothes."
"But you look fine." I stated shortly. I was growing a bit irritated with this boy.
Harry ignored me and waved me off. I huffed irritably and leaned my face against the cold window waiting for us to get to wherever we were going.
* * *
I sat on a bench outside the dressing rooms and checked the time on the clock just above one of the doors. It was getting late and Harry had been taking forever. I leaned down and picked up my water bottle taking a drink.
"How do I look?"
I turned around and almost spit out the water in my mouth. I swallowed and suppressed my laughter. "Very... bright."
Harry stood in the changing room door fully decked out in bright colorful clothing: bright pink jeans, a lime green t-shirt, blood red jacket, sky blue boots, and an orange bandana draped around his neck. He kept a straight face and looked at himself in the mirror. He gave himself a curt nod.
"Okay let's go." He replied and began walking towards the cash registers.
I felt my jaw drop slightly. "In... that?"
Harry kept walking. "Yeah, you don't like it?"
I half ran, half skipped, trying to catch up to him. "I thought you said we had to dress nice?"
He shrugged. "You wouldn't let me buy you anything, so I thought at least we could match."
My lips parted but before I could reply, we were at the cash register. Harry quickly snagged a pair of ty-dye sunglasses and slipped them on dramatically. He turned back to me and winked. I rolled my eyes in mock annoyance but managed to give an appreciative laugh. The girl at the counter looked at Harry skeptically with her eyebrows raised but shook her head, waving it off.
"Just read me the tags." She said somewhat annoyed. She flipped her dark ponytail over the counter.
Harry leaned in towards the counter. "Sure, love."
She glanced up at him with her pale blue eyes after she was finished punching in the numbers to the register. "You look... familiar."
Harry propped his elbows up on the counter. "I get that a lot."
She sat back a bit as if to take in his whole image. "No like, really familiar. Have we met before?"
He shrugged. "Ex-boyfriend maybe?"
I jabbed my elbow into his ribs. "I am so sorry." I apologized. I quieted my voice. "He's a bit dramatic and likes the attention from girls."
Harry squinted down at me. "Some,"
I rolled my eyes. "Thank you again for your... tolerance."
Before Harry could do anything more embarrassing for him and me, I rushed him out of the store. I huffed in the cold air as we stepped out of the store and into the snowy dusk. Harry caught up to me a bit.
"Did you know her or something?" I asked scanning the streets for a crossing to Harry's car.
He shrugged again and took off his sunglasses. "No, but she might have recognized me."
"How? You don't even know her." I said stopping at a red light. I wrapped my arms around my body waiting for it to turn.
Harry stood next to me. "Yeah, there are other ways..."
I pushed a frosty strand of hair out of my eyes. I looked Harry up and down. "You look ridiculous."
He smiled. "I didn't want you to feel alone."
