Jack's POV

After having the best and longest conversation I've had in years, Audrey and I left the restaurant. We were to busy talking to realize that it was raining. There was a glow on the pavement. I turned to Audrey when she noticed the same thing. "Something about that glow. It makes you feel something." She said looking like she was in a trance. "Dance with me." I replied holding my hand out while giving her a sweet smile. "Sure." She replied smiling back. She took my hand and I pulled her in, swaying her around. The moonlight hitting us both. Once I got a hold of her, I didn't want to let her go. I wanted to stay her for as long as I could. I dipped her and she started to giggle. "Nice moves Jack." She said being flirtatious. "Well thanks." I replied spinning her around. "I wish the ability to freeze time existed. I don't ever want to leave you." She said looking at me in the eyes. "Me neither" I whispered back. We embraced each other until our arms hurt and I drove her back to her house.

"What do you think will happen between Grace and Joe? Honestly I think they make a fine pair. It's almost like perfect and perfect together. Not that you aren't perfect. You're amazing." Audrey said. "Um I don't know I mean it seems like they're too perfect. Like they have too much in common. Besides I think Joe is going to get bored with her or something. Not that Grace is boring. She's everything but boring." I replied. "She claims that they just like talking to each other and that's all there is to it. Obviously I don't believe her." She replied. "I just want to see if he's actually going to take her seriously. I know you don't want to see her hurt and I sure don't." I replied. "..I know I take you seriously." I said turning to her. She smiled and scooted towards me. I put my arm around her and continued to drive.

"I'll try to see you tomorrow. If not than I'll see you in the hallways. Then I might just hug you to death." I said. I touched her chin and Audrey fake punched me. "Bye Jack." Audrey replied. She started to leave and I quickly grabbed her arm. "Can you just live with me? Please!" I said frowning. "I'm sure you'll be fine while I'm gone." She replied rubbing my back laughing. "Ugh fine." I replied laying the back of my head on my seat. We hugged and Audrey went in. Her house lights were still on. I'm guessing her family was waiting for her to tell them about tonight. I knew my parents would do the same thing. I took a short drive back to my house when I saw my mom waiting for me on the porch. I walked out the car looking very confused. "Mom? Didn't know you'd be awake. What's wrong?" I said concerned. "Oh nothing. I just wanted to see if you got home safe. I do need to have a talk with you." She replied sitting down on the porch swing. I came to sit next to her. "You know these strong feelings won't last Jack. Audrey's a great girl but...I don't want you to take this as just an experience or a ride." My mom said. "Mom I promised it to her father and I'll promise it to you, I'm very serious about this. We're going to college soon and I don't want to lose her. I love her mom." I replied. I realized that's the second time I've said that, but not to her. To the one I want to say it to the most. "Aw jack." My mother said hugging me. "I just want to make sure your serious about this." She said. "I am." I replied. We smiled at each other and my mom said:"When are you going to tell her." "Well prom is in a week so I'm thinking I could tell her then. A few days after prom, we go to college." I replied. "Good. Never wait till the last minute." she replied. We both got off the porch swing and headed in the full house. Young voices growing and maturing.

Audrey's POV

When I walked in, My parents (especially my mom) were waiting for me on the couch. "So..How was it!" My mom asked. My father shaking his head. "Mom is was fine." I replied feeling weird and embarrassed. I didn't want to talk to my mom about what Jack and I were doing. Come to think of it, she is my mom. I wouldn't hurt that much would it? "What did you guys eat and where. I heard about that new restaurant in town has some good food." My father said rubbing his stomach."Joseph this isn't about the food. This is about our little girl growing up. Maybe with Jack." My mother said jumping up and down on the couch. "The food was great actually. Jack made me try peach cobbler and I always hated peaches. He really turns things around. Mom please don't think 10 years ahead." I said replying to both of their questions. "I don't know what will quiet happen between us. After prom..we go to college. I don't know what college I want to go to yet or if I want to start auditioning for roles in theater or movies. You guys know I've always wanted to do that." "You're right honey." My mother replied holding my hands. "I got to admit. You kids seem to be in love. Really in love. Back in the day when I met your mother I looked at her the same way Jack looks at you." My father said. "Really dad?" I asked blushing. "Really really." he replied. My mother also blushed and we all hugged. We haven't hugged like this since the war. I didn't realize but I shed a tear and it fell on my moms dress. "Oh honey." My mom said rubbing and patting my back. "I love you guys so much. More than you can imagine." I said hugging them tighter. "If there was a word that was greater than love I would use it." My father said. We all laughed and that was the very end of that night.
