Chapter Seven

(Mike's Pov)

I burst into the hospitals atomatic door bearly making through beacuse they opend to slow and I was impatient. I raced to the receptionist's desk and she looked up starteld as I yelled my mother's name at her not bothering to say a proper greeting.

"JENNIFER ASHLEY BERNARD,WHERE IS SHE?!" I said sharply as she quickly typed my mom's name into her computer. Her faced morphed into a emotionless mask as she read what was on the computer to us,Lukas and Jared had finaly caught up with me.

"A Mrs.Jennifer Ashley Bernard,has been emmited into the ICU about 5 miniutes ago and is in surgery at the moment,sorry sir but that's all I have right now,you will have to wait for the doctor." She said pointing to the waiting room. Tears silently rolled down my cheeks as I nodded and slowly moved to were she pointed,I felt as if all my energy had drained out of my body.

As I entered the little oval room,I saw my dad sittin in a chair at the far left,sitting on the egdge of the chair,elbows resting on his knees,head in his hands,I could tell he was crying and instantly red flags went off in my head something really bad had to have happend for my dad to show that kind of emotion in public. Me and Jared shared a look that said he was thinking the same,I glanced at Lukas,he was looking between Jared and I wearily,but I paid no mind to it.

We made our way over to my dad,he looked up when I placed a hand on his shaking shoulders. He smiled weakly at us befor standing and giving all three of us a hug. As soon as he was done I spoke up.

(Lukas's Pov)

"Have you herd anything about mom?" Mike asked his dad. I looked at his dad also wanting to know. Mr.B looked down at his shoes befor he spoked and looked his son in the eyes.

"Boys I don't know what's going on with your mother as of this moment,but right befor we arrived her your mother..." he choked on a sob ".....she um...s-she flat lined." He finished as he sat back down and put his head in his hands again. My breath caught at what he said and I looked at Mike. He sank to his knees and started crying and the other dude did the same. Then what Mr.B said earlier dawned one me "Boys I don't know what's going on with your mother." I suddenly felt like a complete ass,this must be Jared Mike's older brother that was in a coma up untill two months ago,I still haden't mett him yet.

The borthers hugged each other,still on the floor. I was a little jelous of this since I wanted to be the one comforting Mike but this was a family thing and i was just here for morale support. So instead I let them comfort one another,one giving support to the other and vise versa. I smiled knowing at least MIke was ok.

Then a doctor came into the room and headied over to our little group,Mike,Jared,and Mr.B all stood up their expressions mirrioring each others,it was clear they were expecting the worse.

"Mr.Bernard,we've got your wife stabeld. The surgery went exceptionaly well,there was only slight damge to her brain,some bruising nothing else,you can all go in and see her if you would like,she is not awake but it shouldn't be long til' she wakes,I wish your family the best." He said befor rushing and accompiang a stretcher with a lady who had a very round belly and she was screaming so loud i had to cover my ears,it was clear she was in labor. I smiled at new life that was about introduce,I can't wait til' i have kids,I wounder if Mike would want any,ahh just the thought of a little Mike and Lukas runnig around,sigh,what was I doing again,I came out of my thoughts to find i was being left behind and hurried to catch up with the rushing group of men.
