You hurried away from the fire of the building behind you, along with a few others like you. Police sirens blared, urging you and the other kids to run faster, away from the cruelty, the tyranny, and the abuse.
A small girl tripped, you just scooped her up and kept running.
"C'mon Y/n!" Chase, an older orphan, called to you, you tried increasing your speed.

After an hour of running, you guys stopped in a clearing.
Chase, who you guys looked to for leadership, pulled out the orphan owner's purse.
"Okay, there's enough in here for a bus ticket for everyone." He said, giving everyone fifteen dollars.
Hannah, a girl slightly younger than you, tapped his shoulder.
"Should we stay together?" She asked.
"The cops will catch us faster if we do so!" Jose spoke up, others contradicted, causing everyone to either object or aggre.
The toddler in your arms, a small girl named Enya, clung to you.
Chase sighed, pushing back his black hair.
"I hate to say it, but you're right, everybody get on a different bus. If you are 8 or younger, go with teen or someone older." Chase ordered, you saw a few toddlers cling to the teen's legs in fear, there weren't any 5-14 year olds, just teens and toddlers .
The leader turned to you.
"Take care of Enya, Y/n. She probably needs you most." He said, rubbing the small girl's back.
"Okay Chase." You said. "I will."
The older teen then saw a small boy walk up to him, who he promptly picked up.
"Let's go!"

Right now, you were on an old bus heading to god-knows-where, watching over the tired toddler sitting on your lap.
You looked out the window, softly singing a lullaby to Enya, hugging her.
"Y/n?" She asked, her bright pink eyes looking into your e/c ones.
"Yes Enya?" You replied contently.
"Will we ever see that mean lady again?" She asked, you hugged her a little tighter.
"Never, never again Enya. The mean lady can't hurt you anymore." You told her, smiling.
The small girl smiled, then nestled into your chest, soon falling asleep.
You smoothed the toddler's white hair, trying to soothe the tiny albino girl.
The next morning you still had not gotten any sleep, but you did see two more people board the bus. You were sure you looked like a mess, a very large f/c t-shirt that reached your knees, a leather cord around your waist to keep it in place, and old black flats was your outfit, your h/l, h/c hair was ruffled and wasn't tamed, bags under your e/c eyes.
But homeless and messy was better than the tyrant that ran the orphanage, who only gave all the children only one brush.
Let's say the bitch had it coming last night.
You looked at Enya, who was settled on your lap and leaning against your chest.
She wore a small pink t-shirt and an overall blue-jean dress with small black flats.
You had 10 dollars left, being that where ever you were going wasn't that desirable. You planned on buying some extra underwear, a comb, and two toothbrushes.
"Hello!" You turned to see a brunette girl your age, 15, smiling, showing off her braces.
"I'm Mabel, and the sourpuss over there is my brother Dipper. What's your name?" She chirped, you noticed she was wearing a large sweater, a skirt, and Mary Janes.
"I'm Y/n." You replied softly, pointing to the sleeping form in your lap.
"Could you quiet down please, she's asleep." You told her, Mabel nodded.
"She's adorable!" She quietly squealed, taking a strand of the toddler's white hair in her hand.
"Does she dye?" Mabel asked.
"No, she was born this way." You replied.
"Mabel? Who are you bothering this time?" You saw a boy the same age as Mabel walk up and cross his arms.
"Shh! She's sleeping!" The brunette girl hissed at the brunette boy, who was wearing a pine tree hat.
"I don't think this teenager is sleeping Mabel." He pointed out.
"There's a wee child in her lap Dip, quiet down!" Mabel whispered, the boy, "Dip" looked at you, then Enya.
"Oh. Sorry...?"
"I'm Y/n."
"Sorry Y/n, Dip-Dip isn't as observant as he thinks he is." Mabel explained quietly, you nodded, hearing a low "Hey!" in the background.
Enya's eyes fluttered open, she sat up and yawned.
She looked at you.
"Good morning Y/n, I forgot we were here." She mumbled, sitting on your lap, you smiled.
"That's okay, but I meet some nice people, would you like to meet them?" You asked her quietly, she nodded, the albino girl turned to a smiling Mabel.
"Hello, I'm Enya."
"I'm Mabel, and this is my brother Dipper."
Enya looked to Dipper, who jumped back a bit.
"Does he not like me?" She mumbled to you, you shook your head.
"He's just not as mature as Mabel and everyone we used to know." You told her.
Mabel slapped her brother's arm.
"What was that for?!" He demanded, Mabel crossed her arms.
"Don't move away from small children, especially this adorable little girl, it hurts their feelings Dip." Mabel told him.
"Sorry! It's just I've never seen an albino before..." Dipper apologized.
Enya smiled.
"That's okay, I heard its not common." She replied.
