Chapter 1

[JJ POV]

A slap on my leg woke me up, "JJ wake up, the teacher is coming," my best friend whispered loudly near my face.

I lifted my head up and picked up my pen in an attempt to look busy. The teacher walked past me and I sighed in relief. Mrs. MacIntyre can be a pain in the ass when it comes to not paying attention in class. Thankfully the bell rang soon enough and Emily and I picked up our bags and headed out. My plan now was to head home and sleep until the following afternoon, then probably waste my weekend away by not doing any of the schoolwork I was behind on.

"Hey ladies," I heard Morgan say as I opened up my locker.

"A bunch of guys and I are hosting a warehouse party tonight, everyone in this school is invited, just show your ID card to get in. Anyone else has got the pay entrance fee. Same location as last time. I'll see you guys there right?"

"Sure! JJ and I will be there," Emily said cheerfully. She would not miss an opportunity to party. I just groaned in agreement and shut my locker. Both of them laughed at me, this was not the first time I've come to school pretty much falling asleep even standing up. "Alright, see you there then," the jock said as we waved goodbye at him.

"I'm still having a nap before the party," I told Emily and she just laughed at me. "I'll get takeout and come over to wake you up."

"You're the best ever," I smiled at her.

As planned, I headed home and crawled into bed. I barely slept last night and I had so much going on, not even Emily knew half of it. Nobody did. I barely finished that thought before I fell asleep.

[Spencer POV]

"Hey pretty boy," I turned to see Derek headed towards me.

"Hi," I said back.

"I'm hosting a party tonight, you wanna come? JJ's gonna be there," he teased.

I punched him a little, "You said you'd never mention that again."

"I didn't say anything!" he put his hands up and chuckled.

I hesitated in answering, so he said something first, "I can meet you outside and bring you in, you need to loosen up a little, kid."

"What do you mean 'loosen up'?"

He only laughed and handed me a piece of paper. I read an address and a time. "I'll think about it Derek."

"Call me if you show up," he said as he walked away.

I don't know how or why I'm friends with one of the biggest jocks in the school, but I'll admit, it does have its perks. I also didn't get bullied as much as I could have been.

Parties weren't my scene at all, no, I liked to be surrounded with books to read. But Derek knows I've had a crush on JJ for the longest time and honestly, now I might even go.
