ALLISON'S POV

I'm sick of these crappy dances my parents take me to because of their profile. Alright, I understand you run your own companies, but dances? Too formal for me. Either way, I had to go, and I couldn't object.

I got dressed fairly quick, I put on my makeup, and a dress. The only positive thing about these dances; they made me feel beautiful. It wasn't the makeup, the dress, or the heels. Just the time I spent on myself.

I did have to wait for my mother to get done with her makeup, for about half an hour. It drove me crazy, honestly. An hour every single damn day for her to ONLY finish her makeup. Really? She always managed to look stunning though, with or without the makeup and the prestigious clothes.

Definitely not looking forward to anything. Maybe the cute guys. If there are any.

LIAM'S POV.

I was beyond excited for this ball, my parents left me in control, of everything. The food, theme, music, and decoration.

Me being me, I obviously went all out, I picked a black and white theme, Italian food, and music; my specialty. I was anxious to how my parents would react, I've only picked the finest music and food choices. I'd do anything for their satisfaction. From my own point of view, I'd like to think that they were quite happy with how it all was put together.

People were coming in and I had to introduce myself to loads of them. They were all very polite, and once everyone was seated and the "introduction phase" was over, I stressed about the food, I have tasted it, and it better be ten times better than what went down my throat.

As my family and I were headed for our seats, a family of three came out of the door. My mom's friend (as I've met her before) came over and greeted us all with warm hugs and her "gushing" about how beautiful the place was. Only the finest.

I greeted her, her husband, and her daughter. We escorted them to their seats and, well, nothing. Absolutely nothing. I tried to talk with the girl, she wouldn't respond, she would nod her head slightly, and respond with "yeah" "okay" "alright" don't blame me for being polite. That's what I've been raised on.

Music was playing and most couples were heading for the dance floor. Including everyone at our table, so it was only the two of us.

"I'm guessing you're bored?"
"Very" I might have to use a harsh set of words later on.
"Well then, let me change that, dance with me?" I extended my arms, hoping she'd take them, because if she doesn't it'd be slightly awkward. Slightly.

I was quite satisfied when she took it. I led her to the dance floor.

I put one of my arms on her waist and one holding her hand, her other hand was on my shoulder. It was a nice feeling, I enjoyed it in all honesty.

ALLISON'S POV.

Remember when I said I was looking forward to cute guys if there were any? Well, right now, one had his arm around my waist, slowly moving to be rhythm of the music. I wasn't really expecting this tonight, maybe because all these dances I've previously attended had none of these guys that made me swoon.

Much to my dismay, the music was stopped, and everyone was lead to the buffet. The food looked and smelled great, I was ready for that to be in my system. Liam, as I've learned, led me to the table after we've picked out our food.

He told me about how hard it was to set up this whole thing, which impressed me vastly. He spoke to me about his passion for music, all it's genres. It was incredibly nice to meet someone like him, with such high profile, it's hard to have modesty. I've met a lot of guys, very stuck up, vastly proud of themselves.

After we ate, he took me outside in his yard, it was beautiful, the flowers were an incredible sight; perfect place to relax. Especially with Liam around, he's incredibly nice.

"I've had good fun with you around, keep in touch alright?"
"I've charmed the charmer, magic isn't it?"
Alright, smooth Alison, smooth.
"You've done it! Finally! Don't think anyone would've charmed me enough. Me asking for your number is a miracle itself."
"Indeed, would you still like it? After me winning this?"
"I'd love it, not quite sure this should be classified as a battle"
"True, it's war my friend, war." Smart.
"Oh feisty! Don't think I'd be able to handle this!"
"You'll be able don't worry, I'll lower the feistiness no worries." Cheeky.
"Am I still going to get your number though, or are you going to give me one of your witty comebacks again?"
"Ah, gotta love my fans! Sure sure!" I rolled my eyes, just for the effect.

We exchanged numbers, but it was time for home. I didn't want to go, not yet.

******

Liam was great company, we've been together for over 6 months now. I was very comfortable around him, he showed me another Liam. Not the fancy polite one. A normal, 21 year old.

I found out a lot about him, he was very into music. He could play both piano and guitar, he also writes music, he has a great taste in movies and tv shows, which impressed me. It was his aim to do that since day one, I never really thought I'd end up having a boyfriend or a happy healthy relationship anytime soon, but I was glad I did. Especially that I ended up with Liam, he's great, he treats me like a queen, he does everything you'd ever imagine these cliché couples doing.

I loved him with everything in me.
