Charlotte -
I wake up to the familiar, irritating beeping coming from my phone.
Rolling over, I tap the alarm off and sigh.
Today I was starting a new school. It didn't really affect me till last night. I really wasn't looking forward to having to 'make friends' and et to know a whole different school. I had left my friends, the teachers that hate me and my whole social life for my mother.Since my dad died, she hasn't looked or spoken to me the same. The rainy night, the phone call that ripped my mothers life to pieces.
I remember her face, we had just eaten dinner and dad was on his way home from work when we got the phone call. My younger sister and I were watching TV when mum came in with the phone, at first, smiling. Then that changed in a matter of seconds.
I remember the way she froze, dropped the phone and stared blankly into the air. She hasn't really slept since then. I mean, a nap here and there but at night I would just hear her sobbing, she only started crying recently, like it had just hit her. It probably did.
But enough of that, because as much as I love her she doesn't care about me.

I had decided on a black sleeveless crop top, denim high-waisted shorts, a faded pale pink cardigan and my high top, black converse.
It was warm today, I wore my hair in a high ponytail, a necklace and a few rings. As I walked down stairs, I saw my mother sitting on the couch, black bags under her bloodshot eyes.
I just walked past her and made a slice of buttered toast.
Walking to school was painfully slow and boring. Once I reached the school, I went straight to the office, thank god this school had signs showing where the main office was.
After picking up my schedule for the week, the bell signalled the first classes.
The office lady had told me where to go and showed me how the numbered classes worked, so my schedule didn't make sense until she told me what the numbers were.
Making my way into my first class, I over hear my teacher talking about an assignment that was due in a few weeks and right then and there I felt like turning around and going ho- no, anywhere but here and home.
Putting a hand on the handle I took a deep breath and went in.
"-Ah, here she is. Class, this is Charlotte. She is going to be starting here at Ridge Wood High." The teacher explained with a bit too much enthusiasm to a group of unenthusiastic teens.
"Now, make her feel welcome for her first week or two!" He waved his hands, the whole class was slouched in their seats and either fiddling with things on their desk or their own hands from boredom. Even if the class had just started.
I awkwardly sat down in between two, average looking girls, preparing myself for a boredom coma
*** NOT WRITING ABOUT THE CLASS CAUSE NOTHING HAPPENS SO THERE IS NO POINT***
I walked out of my second class, now it was lunch and I was dreading it.
The tables were all full except one at the near back of the cafeteria.I sat, alone, kind of embarrassed of the loneliness. Me just sitting, eating by my self.
God, even my sandwich tastes sad.
