I Open at the Close

The trio stared wordlessly at Ginny. Who looked just as shocked as they did.

"Where am I?" She asked

"Ginny?" Harry stared at her

"Yea." She looked around, "Where am I?" She repeated

"How are you here?" Hermione blinked

"Beats me." Ginny huffed, "Will one of you answer my question now? Where am I?"

"In a carriage." Ron's eyes were as big as dinner plates

Ginny scowled, "That's very helpful, than you Ron." She looked at Harry, "What's going on?"

"I don't understand," Harry shook his head, "It doesn't make any sense!"

"You're telling me." Ginny nodded, "I was just helping McGonagal clean up when I'm suddenly here. With you three."

"This is crazy." Ron shook his head

"Ginny," Hermione said, "This is going to be a shock."

"What is?" Ginny frowned

"We're in the past." Harry said bluntly

No one spoke for a moment before, "The past?" Ginny asked, "What do you mean."

"He means the year is 1991." Hermione explained, shooting Harry a look, "We time traveled."

Ginny ran her hands through her hair, "How?"

Harry started, "We don't-"

"The Elder Wand." Hermione interrupted

The boys looked at Hermione in shock, "When did you figure that out?" Ron gaped

Hermione looked just as confused as they did, "Just now. Didn't you see?"

"No." Ron shook his head

"The Elder Wand sparked and then Ginny was here." Hermione explained, glancing at the wand still in Harry's hand, "I just don't know why."

But Harry did know why. He pieced it together as Hermione was talking. Just before she'd arrived Harry had been thinking about how he missed her. How much he wished she were with him.

"It's my fault." Harry said

It was Harry's turn to be on the receiving end of confused looks

"What?" Ginny asked

"I was thinking about you," Harry said, "And then the Elder Wand brought you here. It wasn't on purpose."

"I suppose it brought us here in the first place then." Ron crossed his arms.

"Yeah." Harry nodded, "But I don't have the slightest idea why." He looked down at the wand.  

They'd been just about to bury it when they arrived in the past. Had the wand been attempting to protect itself? Ensure its legacy wouldn't die?

"Where are we going?" Ginny asked

"Sirius's place." Ron told her, "Slytherins locket is there. We're going after horcrux's."

"Oh." Ginny slowly nodded, "Your changing things then?"

"Yes." Hermione sighed, "We've already turned Quirrel and Pettigrew in."

"That means Sirius is getting out," Ginny looked at Harry, "Right?"

Harry looked out the window, staring at the empty night sky, "That's the plan."

He heard Ginny laugh, "Glad I get to be a part of it this time then."

The carriage landed an hour after take off. Still the middle of the night, no muggles were out and about.
