Calm pillow

"Everytime I go to sleep, I hear a soft voice talking to me"

I wonder how Brisk is doing. He doesn't like to use his phone, so I have to keep wondering until I get home. Huh... What kind of things will he talk me about today...

I let him know that I'm home calling his name while I close the door.

- You're already home? That's good to know. You came earlier than yesterday. Do you want me to cook something?

He went to the kitchen with fast yet silent steps. I took a seat in front of the small table that's in the middle of the kitchen. I watched his black hair fall in front of his yellow eyes. He pulled it behind his ear, and turned to look at me. He adjusted his glasses and inclinated his head a little.

- ...You know I'm not the best cook. - He sighed and continued talking.- It's not really a good idea to ask me to make you something...

I agreed with him shaking my head, and he smiled gently.

- Shall we go to the bedroom, then?

I followed him to the room. When we got there he layed in the bed, watching through the window.

- Stars are really pretty, aren't they. I read that they die, though. - He sounded slightly displeased.- Isn't that sad? They're so beautiful, yet we don't know if they will disappear entirely one day...

He continued looking at the sky, without saying nothing. He moved his hand upwards, reaching for the window.

- If I die... I want to become a star. So I can watch over you forever. If you die, I'm sure you'll become a star. You're just as beautiful as them.

He turned around and looked at me, smiling tiredly.

- Come here. Isn't it better to lay here than to stay there standing up?

I walked to the bed and layed at his side. He removed his scarf and put it around my neck.

- I wonder... if everything here in this world can be erased. If that's the case, wouldn't it be easier to go somewhere away... and live forever...

He started sounding nostalgic.

- You know, when you aren't home I spend my time reading the books in your bookshelf... They're kinda interesting. I get why you like them. I didn't know those had drawings, though. The images are so interesting. And they have many details. Like the one of the fox in the garden. The details of the flowers are really impressing.

Brisk looked around and lowered his voice.

- We should go to sleep. You're tired, right? Working so hard... you really put effort in that... now, use that effort to rest peacefully, okay? - He smiled and chuckled.- You always say that... you're not "too old" to having me telling you to sleep. You'll never be. Even if ten, twenty or fifty years have passed... I'll always tell you to go to sleep.

I slowly closed my eyes, smiling.
