Present Day

Sara giggled at her husband's nuances as she attempted to push him away with absolutely no might, and in complete vain, for Shubman Gill, after having finally had a good amount of time to spend with his wife from their terribly hectic schedules, was in no mood of letting her slip away.

Especially not when their youngest was at a sleepover, and their oldest had her nose buried in novels.

" Shubman-if Shanaya comes downstairs, she's going to be traumatised."

" Oh c'mon!" He groaned.
" Is a man not even allowed to spend time with his wife?" He asked, pressing a soft kiss on her shoulder and she chuckled.
" Besides, she should be used to this. I'm simply hugging you, this is nowhere traumatizing. She shouldn't even be having a problem!"

" Oh but I do have a problem!" There it came, Shanaya Gill's soft voice cutting in like a blade that made his eyes grow wide.

" I swear I'm putting both of them for adoption someday." He groaned, earning a smack on his arm in return.

Tsking like a child deprived of his favourite candy, he rubbed his arm, turning towards his daughter with a spiteful gaze.

" Yashu was so right when he'd said mere bacche hi mere romance ka dushman banenge." He said glaring at his daughter, and the twelve year old's jaw dropped, her gaze screaming betrayal, an incredulous expression morphing on her face.

" Yash Chachu said that?"

" Forget what Yash said, why are you so hell bent on proving him right?"

" I want answers." She said, kicking her feet in the air as she stole a glance at her confused parents.

" What answers?"

" I've rummaged so much through your diaries! I didn't find a single page where you've written about the night before your wedding! Kya hua tha uss raat? Ishan Chachu always complains about what an ungrateful menace you were that night."

Shubman groaned.
'Course it had to be someone from ICT.
They were never letting him live peacefully.

He turned to his wife who was already grinning, a bemused expression on her face as she tilted her head.
" Are you telling her or, should I?"

" Nahi nahi baba! Not you! Not this story! I'll tell her."

Sara shrugged, the grin on her face never fading as the three of them walked out of the open kitchen to the couch.

" Well..." Shubman looked at their twelve year old settled comfortably between him and Sara, and then at Sara, and a chuckle escaped his lips as his eyes glittered with joy, walking down the memory lane.

" It's going to be so difficult for us having you gone." Anjali's eyes brimmed with unshed tears as she caressed Sara's hair, gently cupping her face and Sara sighed shakily, leaning into her touch, crouching closer.

Sachin smiled a tearful smile as he watched the exchange, his hand gently ruffling her hair.

Arjun sat back, quiet, too quiet. He was always the quiet one anyway, but today? Today he was way too quiet for her to take in. The silence bothered her.
