Today, my mom told me to quit my night shift job and ask for a break for health reasons on the morning one. I imagine she will soon ask me too pick up another job as soon as I'm better to help support the bills while she does nothing. Right now she has a job at the movies but that won't last long. Soon they'll call and apologize but say they have to let her go.Then I'll pick up another job. I love my mom so I make it seem like I'm making myself pick up another job but she's the one who asks me and acts all depressed if I don't pick another job up because of the lack of money.

If my father was here I wouldn't have these problems, he'd be working it out with mom and I would have a job to earn spending money. Not to pay bills. My heart races at the thought of going to the mall again. Not even buying something just to go to the mall. But of course it's too much money to buy even a new pair of jeans at the mall none the less the gas to get there is pretty pricey.

I stumble to my feet as I get out of bed. I throw on shorts and a t-shirt. As soon as I'm out my door my moms in front of me with a look of sorrow on her face. "Can you sit down with me for a second." She gestures towards our small old dollar general chairs that are replacing our nice leather couches we had to sell for money.
"Mom what's this about."
"I hired a detective to look into your father and brothers disappearance a few months ago and...." She sighed then smiled "They think they saw your brother."
My minds racing at the thought of seeing my brother. "How? Is this even real?"
"Yes honey it's real. Here," she hands me a picture of a tall red headed boy with blue eyes eating at a subway. Thomas' favorite place.
"Have they approached him?"
"As soon as the cops walked in he rushed out and drove away in our direction."
In our direction. Is he coming home then? Does he miss us? Does he miss me? His twin sister who hasn't seen him in 6 years and needs him now more than ever. His sister who regrets telling him she would never choose to sneak in the back of a car with her stupid twin brother. His sister who wants to run away from her mother but is scared for her moms sake. His sister who wants to cry tears of happiness at the thought of seeing him again.
"Do you think he'll come home?"
" I honestly don't know."
I just hope he will forgive me for not running away with him and forgive me for being so mean to him before he left.
I made the wrong choice staying with my mom. My dad was always my favorite anyways.
