Stance
Front stance - picture above
Here is how to do this stance step by step
1. To start off you need to bring your right foot in front of you and bend it so that your making a right angle with your front leg C:*
2. Then you need to have your left leg 4 steps behind your front leg (make sure its straight) like in the picture above
3. okay now here we are focusing on the hands, you need to make an X in front of your chest then cross them over in front of you to your sides.
(Remember to keep shoulders back and your core tight)
Front Stretch kicks
Okay so for all of the stretch kicks you never, ever bend your leg it has to be straight at all times.(some people find this hard but if you're good with your stretching then this would be a piece of cake) if you can do the splits then there can be no reason why you cannot hit over your head.
Problems that many people do (I will describe the things that are wrong with the picture above, many people do these mistakes)
1. Her hands are not close to her chest--> this is going to mess up her balance and look ugly/ungraceful. (we do kicks in style here) ;)
2. The leg that is not kicking is off the ground and on her toes (if you're going for height it's great to do this) however the biggest problem is that this might cause problems for her in the future (arthritis) and yet again this would make her lose balance.
3. The leg that is not kicking has not been rotated 90 degrees. the point of turning your foot 90 degrees is so that it opens your hips and you get a nice stretch kick.
4. ugggh this one kills me a lot..... SHE IS LOOKING UP!!!! this is going not only going to make it hard for her to balance but it's going to make you lose focus.... (imagine your in a fight you need to be able to focus on the surrounding not look at your leg. If you want to see your kick to check whether you're doing it right or wrong; just do your kick in front of the mirror.
I couldn't find any better pictures, but this is how you do the actual kick, the only thing that you do differently is that you keep your hands in front of your chest while doing this, and also turn the leg thats not kicking 90° degrees.
