Will had asked me to go pick up a few things from the store. He told me he had someone really important coming over. He wouldn't tell me who though. I wasn't so excited about getting out of the house since I haven't for a while. I was afraid someone would recognize me and i'd have to go home. I really hated this. I finally got to the store after getting lost a couple times and having to call Will and him telling me I needed to turn around or turn down a road. I went inside and got all the things he asked me to get.
I helped him cook and the whole time he had this huge smile on his face. Whoever is coming over must be really important to him... I had a bad feeling in the bottom of my stomach. The same feeling that I had when I went over to Isaac's... I didn't like it.
We were putting food on the table when the doorbell rang. That feeling got worse as soon as he went to the door. He opened the door and there was this beautiful brown headed girl. She was everything I wasn't. Really skinny, perfect skin, beautiful, tall, she seemed to be popular. Probably a cheerleader. He smiled widely and hugged her tightly. She giggled and hugged him back. I cringed as he invited her in. He walked over to me with her... hand in hand... "This is the girl I was telling you about, Evelyn. Evelyn this is my girlfriend, Maddie" She smiled at me "Its nice to meet you" I nodded slightly. Will chuckled slightly "Sorry I didn't tell you before, I wanted it to be a surprise." A surprise? You just wanted to make it clear that you were taken so I wouldn't get the wrong idea. I should have known. No guy would ever want me. What was I even thinking. I placed the plate down on the table and whispered out "I have to go" He tilted his head "But why? Dinner is about to-" I shoved my way by him, walking toward the door. He went after me and grabbed my hand "Evelyn wait" I tried my best not to cry. I didn't look at him and pulled my hand away, putting on my shoes. He sided and knelt down beside me, taking my hands away from my shoes "Evelyn whats wrong?" Whats wrong? Couldn't you tell that I was falling for you? Yeah its only been a couple weeks now but hell, its been the best couple weeks of my life. "N-Nothing" I put my shoes on and stood up, opening the door. He put his hand against the door and closed it, holding it there. He turned me around and held me against the door. I felt my face turn a faint shade of pink. He stared down at me "Whats wrong?" I glanced behind him and saw his girlfriend keeping an eye on me. He noticed me glance and frowned. His voice got softer as he whispered "Is it her?" I looked back up at him. How could I just say yes, your girlfriend that you probably love is my problem. You should tell her to leave. I shook my head slowly. He sighed, still whispering "Are you lying to me?" His voice got lower and I could barely hear him "Because I don't take kindly to lairs" He smirked slightly. Was he implying something? Right in front of his girlfriend, who didn't look so happy at the moment. I half wanted to lie and half didn't. But with how I am... I just shook my head again. I could tell he knew I was lying. He sighed softly and whispered into my ear "Suit yourself..." He pushed off the door and walked back to his girlfriend. My knees felt like jello as I leaned against the door. Like holy crap that was so attractive.
I quickly made my way to the bathroom, shutting the door. I stared at myself in the mirror. My face was a fine shade of red. I turned on the water and splashed cold water onto my face. Oh dear lord I couldn't breath. I leaned back against the wall, my eyes closed. I heard a knock on the door. "Are you alright, Evelyn?" It was Will. My eyes snapped open "Y-Yes i'm fine" I felt my face heat up again. I could feel his smirk through the door, if thats even possible. "Alright.. Dinners on the table when you're ready. I fixed you a plate" I stuttered slightly "Th-Thank you" I heard him walk away. I took a couple minutes to get myself to together and left the bathroom.
The whole time his girlfriend was glaring at me. And then she'd flirt with him right in front of me. I wanted to throw my fork at her face. But I couldn't do that...
She left finally about a couple hours later. I went to the guest room, hoping to get some me time. I couldn't stop thinking about what he said to me. "Because I don't take kindly to lairs" His voice kept running through my head. What was he going to do? He knew I was lying? Did I make a mistake? Is he just going to bring her over a lot more until I admit that she was my problem? Was he going to ignore me? Was he going to make me move out? Was he going to send me back to my parents? He couldn't do that. He doesn't know them. Or maybe he found out? So many thoughts were running through my head that I didn't notice my door open...
