Jenna's POV:
I like second grade. It's fun. I made four new friends. Their names are Bailey, Hannah, Kathryn, and Chloe.
"Hey Jenna! Come here we wanna talk," Hannah said.
"Hi!"
"So, you wanna be in our club?" Bailey asked.
"What kind of club is it?"
"It's a girls club. "
"What do you do in it?"
"We mostly play with our American Girl Dolls," Chloe told me.
"I don't have one."
"You can use one of ours."
"But I don't like dolls."
"But you're an eight year old girl! You have to like dolls." Bailey said.
"But I don't."
"Well whatever you can still be in the club. Come to the treehouse at my house after school," Hannah said.
"Ok!"

At the treehouse
"Hi!" I said going in the treehouse. They brushed their dolls' hair. I watched them.
"So Jenna, who's your best friend at school. That Witney girl?" Chloe asked me.
"No. His name is Val."
"Wait, you're friends with...a boy!?" Bailey yelled.
"Yeah! He's nice to me."
"Well you can't be in the club if you're friends with a boy," Hannah said.
"Oh ok."
I left the treehouse and walked to Val's house four houses away. I knocked on the door. Val opened it.
"Hi Jenna! Aren't you supposed to be at that girls club?
"They kick me out."
"Why?"
"Cause your my best friend."
"You would rather stay friends with me than stay in the club?"
"Yeah you're sweeter to me. They aren't very nice."
"Awe sorry. Wanna go out and play?"
"Yeah!"
After playing we went inside to eat cookies.
"Val, do you think I'm a bad eight year old girl?"
"No, why?"
"Because all the other girls like pink and dolls and stuff. And I don't."
"That's fine. I like you better than other girls so I think it ok."
"Ok. I really wanted to be their friend."
I started crying a little.
"Jenna, they aren't worth it. You deserve good friends. Like Witney, Peta, and Brittany."
"Yeah I guess."
"Can you please stop crying? It makes me really sad when you cry."
"Ok, I'll stop for you."
"Thanks. Here, want another cookie?"
"Sure! Thank you!"
Val always can make me feel better. He's the best best friend in the whole world.
