Glade Girl

The Glade

All I feel is cold metal against my skin. I start to move. Upwards. I'm in a crate with red lights zooming past. The crate stops. Everything is pitch black. What seems like forever I sit in the darkness. Then I hear a voice. "Open it" the voice is familiar. A bright , blinding light fills my eyes.

My eyes adjust and I see a bunch of boys standing there. I scan them and see unrecognized faces. Then one jumps inside the crate. Newt. What is he doing here? What is this place? He grabs my arm and helps me up.

"What is this place?" I ask. No one answers me. "Newt. Where am I?" I ask. Everyone gasps when I say his name. "How do you know who I am?" Newt asks me. "How can I forget someone like you?" I ask confused. "Girl, what's your name?" A voice behind me says. Alby. I turn around and see him. "Don't you remember me Alby?" I ask. He shakes his head no and my heart drops. "No one remembers a thing when they come out of the box. No one knows who you are" he informs me. "What's you name?" Newt asks grabbing my hand. "Ara" I say. "How do you know who we are?" He asks again. "You were in my class. At school". "What school?" He laughs. All of them are smiling amused. "Wicked. What else?" I answer. How do they not know this. We knew each other.

"How does she know who any of us are? She must be evil. Here to trick us." A voice says. The voice comes from a tall boy leaning against a tree. "She's not evil Gally" Alby yells. Gally swings at me with a knife in his hand. He strikes my across the arm and I cry out in pain. I collapse on the ground and everything goes black.
