The bell above the door rang as a family of 5 entered the diner. Every time that stupid bell rang my head pounded, it was so loud. I watched as they sat down, I glanced at the clock and noticed it was my time to leave. I set my pencil and paper on the counter and headed to the pack room to punch out. I typed in my number,3456 and slid my card so they knew what time I left. I grabbed my coat and phone from the hook and headed out of the diner.

"Hey abbey where are you going" my friend Larsen yelled.

"I'm leaving its 8 and I have to go home and pack still" I said.

"You still haven't packed yet were leaving for Australia tomorrow abbey" she said.

I rolled my eyes " don't worry I'll get it done I always do" I joked. She waved and shut the door. I unlocked my car and hopped in and started heading home.

Me,and my best friend Larsen are going to Australia for 2 weeks. Were going to be staying with my cousins Mia and Allison,there twins, for a bit. We really don't have a reason for going we just need to go somewhere other then here.

I pulled into my drive way and saw my moms car sitting in the drive way. Which was weird because she was never home this early. She works at the hospital and she's always home at 11 or 12 never 8. I got out of the car and walked into the house. There my mom was sitting in the living room and my dad was sitting on the couch across from hers. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. My parents are divorced and they can't stand each other.

"Uh hi mom...and dad?" I said with a confused tone.

"Hello honey. I just stopped by to see you before you went to Australia" he said. It was kinda weird that he was here because when I went to England for 3 weeks he never called or even said good bye.

"Oh okay well thanks I guess" I said. He gave me a faint smile and stood up from the couch.

"Well I must be going now" He quickly said. He walked over to me kissed me on the cheek and left. I stood there in confusion. I turned to my mom and she shrugged.

"I didn't call him over he came all on his own" she said waving her hands in the air.

"That's weird" I said. I decided to forget it and go in to my room to pack. I grabbed my huge suit case from my closet and set it on my bed. I had no clue what to bring. I knew it was really hot there and to bring shorts but I had a billion pair of short to decide from. I grabbed 15 pairs on shorts and set them in my suit case. Then I grabbed about 20 different shirts in case I'm not in the mood to ware one. I threw on some other necessities and closed my suit case.

I looked at the clock and it was 1am. I needed to get to sleeping I had to get up at 8:30 tomorrow.

I changed into my pink shorts that said ENGLAND written on the butt and my white t-shirt that said PINK on the boobs. I got into bed and closed my eyes and fell asleep.

I woke up before the alarm went off, which I usually do anyways. I grabbed my phone from under my pillow and unlocked it. I had about 15 messages from Mia and Allison saying have a good flight and they miss us and see ya soon.

I climbed out of bed and went into the kitchen where my mom was sitting at the table talking to someone on the phone. She looked happy so I knew it wasn't my dad. I went into the cabinet and grabbed a box of cereal and a bowl and stated pouring it into a bowl with some milk.

I sat down at the table and started eating my breakfast. My mom hung up the phone but still had a huge smile on her face.

''Who was that'' I asked. She gave me a confused look.
