Gills or Fur? (Furry Fanfic)

Chapter One: The First Day

     "This is going to be awful..." AiAi mumbled as she slammed her three-fingered hand down on the alarm clock. Rubbing her black eyes, her short figure stood up and stretched. She sighed and ran her fingers through her hot pink hair and went up to her vanity. She squished her small muffin top with her hand and sighed. "Why can't I stop loving food..." She muttered as she changed into her new school uniform. Today was the day. The day this public school axolotl became a private school prep. After being bullied at her old school, Ocetta High, AiAi was transferring into a private school called Luna High. Which was of course, run by the wolves and cats. Nervous, AiAi sighed and walked to her new school.

     The school was beautiful. There was even a water fountain in the middle of the main hallway, with little stone fish spitting water out from their mouth. Their eyes were diamonds and the base was gold. This truly was a private school. AiAi walked down the hallway, earning looks from everyone. She couldn't read their faces, so she kept walking to her first period class. Upon entering the room, she noticed a black wolf with green highlights. His eyes were bright blue, and for some reason, he made AiAi feel butterflies in her stomach. She continued walking down the aisle and sat in the desk way in the back of the large classroom. Soon the class filled up and the lesson started.

     After the horrid, boring lesson, AiAi was happy to get up and walk to her next class. As she gathered her things she was stopped by that wolf she noticed earlier. "Hey." He smirked. "H-Hello..." She stuttered. "I'm Len... And you are?" "My name is AiAi..." Len smirked. "That's a nice name... So where do you come from?" "A lake..." Len laughed and wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "Oh really? Your a funny one, aren't you? Your not like the rest of the girls here. What are you exactly?" He asked, going a mile a minute with his tongue. AiAi blushed slightly and looked down. "I-I'm an axolotl..." She muttered. His paw lifted her chin up. "Come again?" He asked. "I-I am an axolotl..." AiAi muttered again. Len smirked. "An axolotl, huh? Interesting... Well, AiAi, would you like to join me for lunch today? And maybe we could hang after school, yeah? I'll introduce you to my friends." He offered. AiAi smiled and blushed. "That sounds great, thanks..." Len smirked. "No problem."

     After that, the school day rushed by. Before she knew it, AiAi was the talk of the school, and not any bad talk at that. She was climbing up that popularity ladder. Before she knew it, she had a lot of friends. Everyone knew her. Of course, Len had helped her around all day, helping her get to class, and introducing her to all his friends, and even his whole soccer team. This day couldn't get any better. Now, AiAi was out with some of her new friends. Len and his guy friends decided to take AiAi and their girlfriends out to a cute local coffee shop that was all the rage. As the boys were ordering, the girls dragged AiAi over to a booth to chat.

     "So AiAi, what do you think about Len~?" Melody, a white mouse who had the prettiest blonde hair, asked her. "Yeah? You do know he's single right?" Gigi, a sexy grey wolf who was almost wearing all pink, chimed in. The girls started bombarding her with questions. AiAi blushed at that thought of Len and her dating. "W-Well, I think he's cute..." "Oooooh!" The girls all squealed together. "You two are the only two single ones in this group!" Gigi sang, giggling. The boys walked over with the coffees. "So, AiAi. I didn't really know what you would like, so I got you the pumpkin latte. I heard it's really good." Len smiled and handed her a cup. AiAi smiled. "Thank you Len~"

     This couldn't get any better... I have friends, maybe even a new crush... This is great! AiAi smiled and thought to herself as her friends giggled and chatted. Everyone included her into the conversation, making her feel welcomed. Maybe this was the start of something new, something better then her old school full of snobs and bullies. This could work.
