Chapter 1

Hadley's POV

  
I get out of the  taxi and the driver helps me get my bags from the trunk. I give him my twenty  and grab my stuff.I put my bags down and  open the door.Someone comes rushing up to me and  engulfs me in a hug.
"I missed you sweetie,"My moms voice says."I missed you two mom!"She lets go and grabs my stuff,moving them to the couch were someone is sitting.I ignore that  person and hug dad.
"I missed you dad,"I say.He hugs me back and then lets go,holding my shoulders he inspects me.Right now I'm in denim shorts and a beige,ruffled noodle strap  tank top."You got bangs,"dad says.
I smile up at him and nod."Oh Hadley we would like you to meet James Black he goes to you school,"dad says with guilt stuck in his voice."Hi,"I say."Oh we got you something sweetie,"mom says before dad can say something else.
I start jumping up and down like a little kid in a candy shop.Mom goes to a little woven basket and pulls out a little golden puppy."She's a yellow lab,and yours ."I run over to the puppy and hold her.
"Hello Addison ,"I say to the puppy."Addison,"James says questionably.I forgot he was here."Yeah got a problem that name,"I snap.Mom and dad look worried after I say that."I wouldn't talk like that to me if I was you,"he says."Listen here mister,I don't listen to any one especially assholes like yourself,"I say pointing at him and squinting my eyes.
After that I go skipping off in the kitchen with Addison."Would you like some food,"I say in a baby voice.I grab the basket from the counter and look what else is in there.Two dog bowls and a tiny dog bed.I look in the pantry and get the dog food that I found in there.
I pour the food in one of the bowls and place it in front of her .She happily eats it while I fill her other one with water and place it by the other one.She looks like she is enjoying the food so I get curious of what it tastes like.I pick one of the little dog food ball thing and put it in my mouth.
I swallow it then run to the sink and put my head under,filling my mouth with water.I here someone walk in while I am whipping my tongue."What the hell are you doing,"Someone asks.I look up."Getting the dog food taste out of my mouth why."James looks at me weirdly then says,"Why did you eat dog food?"
"I wanted to know what it tasted like,,"I say flatly.He shakes his head and says,"Your stuff is in the car,come on."It's my turn to look confused."What the hell are you talking about,I'm staying here."He shakes his head again and grabs my arm.Addison starts barking like crazy at him so I do the first thing that comes to mind.
I bite his arm.He lets go and looks at his arm."You bit me,"he says.I smile and nod my head."I think the dog food tastes better though,"I say.Dad comes in the kitchen and looks at me then at James."I'm sorry about my daughter,she hasn't been caught up in news yet."
"What news,"I shout."Well honey you and James are getting married,"Dad says.I put addison's empty food and water bowls in the little basket and carry both that and Addison to my room which is the door next to the pantry.Yes my room is in the basement.
I shut the door and lock it.I sit on my bed and look at my old laptop.I put my phone down on the desk and open the safe that was under my bed.I heard quiet talking in the kitchen so I thought it would be fine.After I opened it I grabbed my blue jewelry box and put it next to my phone.I opened it and looked for the phone case I was looking for.
I found the sparkly mustache one I was looking for and took off the sparkly Eiffel tower one and put on the mustache one.I put the old one back in my case and put that in a box I found in my closet.I brought the box by my desk and put in all the stuff from my safe.
It included all the college brochures and a bag with a lot of stuff I needed then my makeup bag.I closed the box and started filling the safe with fake money.I put a note at the very top of the money pile.It said.
Ha got you bitches.

I smiled at my note and closed the safe putting the key on top of it,I then moved the safe into an open area.I heard the door knob jingle a couple times so I went over to my phone and got on my boise thingy app.Once the door opened I pressed the party Botton and smiled a big smile while doing jazz hands."Surprise,"I said.I turned off the app while they stared at me.
"Okay then..Well let's go Hayden,"James said.I saw dad eye my safe and I started snickering."Fine but I get to take this box,"I say.James rolled his eyes and grabbed the box while I grabbed Addison and her basket."Bye Sweetie,we'll see you soon,"mom says.
I force a smile and say,"Oh can you bring the rest of my art stuff when you come,"I say.Mom nods and dad says,"Bye girly.Love you."I roll my eyes and follow James."Wait!"James turns around."Addison needs a bow,"I say like a five year old.Mom goes upstairs and comes back down with a baby pink bow.
She put it around Addison's neck and gives me a light kiss on my forehead."Love you,"mom says.I force a smile back and follow James again.We go out and he puts my box in a van.he gets in the front and the slide door thing slides open and I Hop in and sit next t0 a brunette guy."So you must be Hayden Reynolds,"he says."The one and only,"I reply."I'm Mark,"he says."Hi."
I turn to face James who is in front of me.
"I'm hungry."
I poke his head.
"I'm hungry,I repeat.
I poke him again.
He turns around and grabs my finger."Do you want to keep this finger,"He asks angrily .
"But I'm hungry,"I whine."I don't give a flying shit."
"That's mean,"I say and stick out my bottom lip.
My lip starts quivering and a single tear slips down my cheek."Please can I have some food,"I ask."No."There goes my sad act."If you do not give me food I will scream rape at the top of my lungs."
I looked at a chuckling Mark.I swatted the back of his head."What are you laughing at mister."
He stops laughing and I take a deep breath."Hay um James I think she wasn't kidding about the whole screaming rape thing."
I take another deep breath and was about to scream when a hand was over my mouth and someone was now sitting on my right.
I look over and see a smirking James.Why the hell is he smirking?!
Addison right now is flipping out as well.I look at Mark and he grabs Addison.
I then look at James again and lick his hand.He let's go and wipes his hand on his jeans.
I wipe my tongue with my hand then wipe it on my shorts.
"Ugh I really prefer the dog food over you,"I say."That hurts,"He says putting his hand over his heart.
"How I thought you had no emotion or heart,"I say.He glares at me until the person driving shouts,"We're here!"
James gets out and opens the trunk door.I grab Addison and put her leash on.We both get out of the car and I go beside James who is grabbing a couple of my bags."Hi,"I say to James.
"hello,"he says a bit confused.
I tuck a strand of loose hair behind my ear and and my box and my last bag."Mark can you garb Addison's basket,"I ask.He nods and grabs the basket.he also shuts the trunk and we both walk towards the house.
Let's just say it's bigger then I expected,it also looks more homier then I expected.
