Chapter one- Announcement

Link's POV

It had been a long day at the studio and I was glad to finally be home, I sighed a breath of relief when I opened the door and smelled a fresh batch of cookies being made. I entered my house and immediately went upstairs to take off my shoes, once I completed that task I went down to look for my children and wife, I figured all of the kids were helping Christy bake the cookies in the kitchen.

Surely enough when I rounded the corner to our kitchen I saw my three kids and wife standing by the stove waiting for the cookies to finish, "honey I'm home!" I announced in a high pitched voice, soon all of my children were running towards me.

"Daddy!" Lando, my youngest, shouted as he ran to me and bear hugged my legs.

"Hey buddy!" I said smiling as I bent down to his level, my two other children then proceeded to hug me, "what did you guys do today?" I asked all three of my children.

"We made cookie-", "I read a-", "I was promised-" Lily, Lincoln, and Lando all spoke at the same time, each one of them eager to tell me a story about their day.

Grinning in amusement I tried to speak louder than all three of them, "one at a time! One at a time!" I joked with them.

"Oldest first!" Lily called out in excitement, her brothers just groaned and slumped down onto the floor, "well today I helped mom clean the house and in return she promised me a new outfit! We are probably going to the mall this weekend, just her and I!" Lily said with a proud smile on her face.

I looked up at Christy, we were both smiling, "I called Jessie and the boys are going to her house while Lily and I go on a trip to the mall." She informed me, I nodded and then turned my attention back onto my oldest child.

"Well good job for helping your mom today!" I praised her and gave her a kiss on the cheek, "what about you Lincoln? What did you do?" I asked my second oldest child.

"I read a new comic!" He exclaimed, "it was a new Spiderman one and it was amazing! I'll go get it to show you!" Lincoln jumped up and left the room before I could respond.

I then picked Lando up and moved us to a chair "and what did you do buddy?" I asked him as I propped him onto my knee.

"I helped mommy make cookies!" He cheered and pointed to the stove behind him.

"I bet they will be delicious!" I told Lando as I kissed him on the top of his head and then let him go play, both him and Lily went to the living room.

I stood up and walked over to Christy, my beautiful wife, "and what did you do today?" I asked her as I kissed her.

"Hmm well I was a mommy, then I helped clean up a mess the kids made, then I helped Lincoln make us all lunch, and then Lily helped me clean up lunch, and then we made brownies." Christy told me as she kissed me back, "what about you?"

"Sounds like fun, and I did the same old same old, Rhett and I finished filming pretty early though so we got a nice lunch, but then we had to head back and work on a new music video." I told her, she smiled and was about to respond but the oven beeped signaling that the cookies were done.

I watched as Christy grabbed an oven-mitt and carefully took the cookies out of the oven, she then placed them on the table to cool.

"Oh chocolate chip! My favorite!" I said as I went to pick one up but I drew my hand back once I realized just how hot the cookies actually were.

"Oh yea, I forgot to tell you, my dad called today." Christy informed me, I was confused as to why she brought this up.

"That is nice, what did he have to say?" I asked her, I knew they kept in contact so I knew he must have said something important during this call.

"Well next weekend my family is having a reunion back home and he was wondering if we could make it?" She asked me, I noticed a pleading look in her eyes.

"Of course we can! I will book the tickets later tonight! Do you know who all will be there?" I had no objecting to going back home, I love North Caroline more than I can possibly say.

"Just the usual intermediate family and some cousins, they all are super excited to see the kids." Christy told me.

"Speaking of the kids, have you told them yet?"

"No I was waiting until you got home to confirm that we could all go."

"Ahh I see, why don't we tell them now?" I suggested.

"Good idea." Christy then called everyone into the kitchen.

I watched as everyone piled into the kitchen and took a cookie before sitting down at the table, "your mother and I have something to tell you guys." I announced.

"Are we getting another brother or sister?" Lily asked excitedly, there was nothing that she wanted more than a little sister.

Christy chuckled "no but we are going to North Carolina next weekend for a family reunion!"

All of the kids cheered once the words escaped their mothers mouth, they all loved going on vacation.

After we told the kids the exciting news we proceeded to settle down for the night, little did we know what was going to happen in the weeks that would follow.
