He comes to you at your final hour
Makes your breath your last one
He wears black, dressed to kill
Eyes filled with promises
Stops the pain with a single touch
He's got a job, like you and me
Maybe it has a purpose
Living might be a sin
Or maybe he's there to set you free
But he will be the end of us
So live your life
Before he takes it from you
A book suddenly shut, as a carefree voice retorted "Okay...that's enough creepy stories for today, Janet. Time for bed."
Poor Janet had her blanket up to her nose, scared stiff.
Little Janet whispered timidly "Julie...?"
Julie replied "Yeah?"
Janet muttered "Will he really come? Death?"
"I don't know, he could be busy. That dumb jerk could even be sleeping in, like always..."
Janet pulled down her covers to her chin, her voice hinting glee "You sound like you know him."
Julie paused for a sec but then replied with a meek laugh "Heh. Maybe."
She patted her little sister's head, soothingly.
"Don't worry. Wherever you go, I go with you." Julie reassured in a comforting tone.
Her sister was now more relaxed than scared "Okay. Goodnight sis."
Julie went to turned off the lights.
"Goodnight."
She closed the door with a content smile and walked down the corridor. She paused however, hearing a voice.
"Do you have to read that story to her every night?"
She looked up to see a boy with hazel brown hair sitting on the edge of the stairwell.
Julie grinned "Yes, it's become my duty to do that."
"How typical of you." the boy retorted with a smirk.
