Hey people, this is my second story that I have started and decided to put up on wattad.

I hope you enjoy.

.........................................

Running from my father was the hardest thing I had to do, he was dying and I couldn't stay there and watch any longer. He lay there in the hospital bed looking pale and fragile. The sad thing is, he hated hospitals and he didn't have a choice but to lay in there being poked an prodded by needles, and having blood extracted for tests.

A couple of years ago my mother was murdered right before my eyes. Her last words were her asking me to promise that I'd look after our family, go to college and soon provide for a fanily of my own, but I doubt that will happen.

We barely have enough money to buy food for the family, let alone money so I could go to college. Now that my father is dying, I can't fulfill her dying wish.

I have two brothers, but my older brother isn't of age to become our legal guardian yet, so we have to be sent off to some shitty orphanage. There is no way that I'd share a room with a bitchy seventeen year old complaining about how much her life sucks; I refuse to listen to that bullshit.

Anyway, back to running.

I have tears streaming down my face making me look weak. When I get outside, not even the heavy rain stops me from running to the middle of the carpark; where I suddenly collapse, in the middle of the bospital car park of all places. I continue to sob and didn't notice when someone walks up to me.

"Come on sweetie, lets get you inside." An elderly lady said to me.

I look up at her and nod my head, she takes my arm helping me up, and walks me into the white covered hospital. I hear a little girl crying and look to my left noticing the 5 year old crying, and walk over to her after helping the woman sit down. I jog over to the little girl and she looks at me with the most devastated look on her face.

"Hey... What's wrong honey?" I ask sincerely.

"My younger brother... he died!" She bursts into another set of tears.

"I understand what you're going through... do you like chocolate?" I ask nicely.

She nods her head frantically, signalling that I was successful in distracting her. I chuckle and take her hand walking both of us to the cafeteria. She chooses a mars bar.

"Do you have any family here with you?" I ask her.

She nods.

"My older brother is here with me..." She trails off as we both see a boy about my age frantically looking for someone, he then spots us.

He walks over to us and stops about a foot away from the both of us, he looks at her crying face an heartbreak crosses upon his handsome face for a split second, an then its gone. The little girl then throws herself at what I'm guessing is her older brother, he catches her and holds her close.

"Thank you for looking after Lily." He said amidst tears.

"You're welcome." I said smiling.

Then I remember why I'm here and yet again I didn't notice when the tears started gushing.

"I'm sorry... I have... I have to go." I said rushing away.

Sorry people, this first chapter is short. I promise that the next one will be longer.
