If I Ruled the World

"If I ruled the world, I'd free all my sons,"
And I'd free all my daughters and my mothers and my fathers,
Some people wish for change but wouldn't even bother,
To make the change they claim to want so bad,
If you wanted change in this world you would stop being "bad bitches" and "real niggas",
But rather kings and queens,
Working as a unit and one team,
To rule the same kingdom,
Your love would be plentiful and your hate would be harder to find than water in the desert,
Your mind would would be the gym and your right to think would get exercise everyday,
The words fat skinny ugly pretty dark light black and white would no longer exist,
And the well being of others would peak our interest,
We would want others to do well like us,
And we would all be moral and right and truly preach in God we trust,
You know like our dollar bills say,
Speaking of dollar bills we wouldn't need those,
Because I'm sure you've heard money is the root of all evil,
But we wouldn't need money,
We would give out of the kindness of our hearts,
And be paid in the currency of gratitude and love and respect,
And if we had less,
We'd share what we could,
And take what we were given graciously,
In that world, I would never need anyone to pay for me,
Because I know when to thank, or to be thanked,
I know when to love or let others love me,
I know when to console and when to be consoled,
I know when to understand and be understood,
People think that I'm selective,
That I talk about equality,
But if I was approached by someone other than my color I couldn't give them all of me,
That's not even near enough to the truth,
Just like the color of your skin isn't enough to make me stop loving you,
I'm not planning world domination,
But you can consider this my official nomination,
Or rather proposal for a better world,
Because see if I ruled the world,
I'd free all of it...
