Chapter sixteen
"Chloe?" My eyes lit up as I recognised that voice, his loud slow steps loving around only inches away from me. I can't believe it, they've actually done it. They've rescued me. They've gotten me out of this hellhole.
I peeked my head out of the boxes and saw Greg and Josh both searching the room for me. "Come on Chloe, Don't be afraid." Greg whispered softly as if not to scare me. It was hard to hear but I could just about make out the words he spoke. I wanted nothing more than to run out from behind the boxes into Josh's arms and stay there forever but I can't guarantee their safety when my father would be out searching high and low for me. He would hurt anyone who got in his way in the process.
"Chloe, I know you're in here." Josh said, I sighed. I walked out waddling over towards Josh. I hugged him tightly, I didn't want him to let go of me because for the first time in 4 months. I felt safe But if we didn't leave soon my dad would have been back and killed all of us.
"I can't believe you're back." Josh said in disbelief.
"It feels good to be back in your arms."I whispered as I snuggled deeper into him. "How are the others?"
"You know, scared. Paige is slowly going in sane and your Mom wants you and the baby safe. Speaking of which, the baby it's okay right?"
"The baby is okay. I made sure to protect it with my life while I was with him."
"Promise?"
"Promise."
"Good."
"I missed you." I whispered into his chest.
"I missed you too. But we've got to get out of here befo-"
BANG
A gunshot.
"Release my daughter Joshua."My dad said holding the gun straight at Josh's head. I moved out of his arms over to my dad. I looked at Josh Silently telling him the plan. I got ready and when I knew he was off guard I shoved the gun out of his hands and straight into Josh's. Josh held the gun directly at my dad.
"Don't tell me what to do Marc." Josh aid before letting the bullet fly into his shoulder. He fell down in pain.
