Chapter 1
That night I awoke in a cold sweat, screaming. Again he was in my dream. He's all i could ever think about since he left me a month ago. Ezra was a good guy, but he did something terrible I could never forgive him for. Mom came running up stairs to my bedside. Asking if I was okay. I thought by now she would have been used to my screams that woke everyone in the house.
I went to school the next day. Still he was all I thought about. All day long, I was confused, and distracted from him, although he hasn't been at school since he beat up my best friend, Toby. Ezra knew we were only friends, but I guess he couldn't take that we were together ALL the time.
*Flash back* There Toby lie, and Ezra standing over his bruised and limp body. Blood everywhere. It was horrific. He was out cold. I couldn't believe my eyes. I never thought in a million years that Ezra would do something like that, but my thought was wrong.
Principal Skeltis came running over to Toby's side, and pushed Ezra out of the way. His knuckles cut open, and bloody. Scared to death, not only from all the blood, but from what Ezra did, I passed out.
When I woke, I was laying in a hospital bed with a bump on my head. Mom was sitting at my bedside and jumped up. I kept asking for Ezra, rarely remembering what happened a few hours before, but no one knew where he was. Mom had to refresh my memory and remind me about Toby, and Ezra at the school, and how I fell and hit my head.
"How's Toby doing?" I asked.
"Better.. Better than before." Mom told me. "They stopped the bleeding."
"That's good.."
After that the doctor came in, "Are you ready to check out Emily?"
"If it means getting home, then yes." I smiled.
*Flash back over* I fell asleep during our movie in English class. Again another dream of Ezra. Except this time I didn't wake up screaming my head off, luckily. When I woke up, I was gasping for air. Everyone looked over at me like I was crazy or something.
Lucy looked over at me, knowing that I fell asleep, and probably had a dream about him; Lucy and I go way back, since 1st grade. We're in 11th now, so that's quite a long time; Lucy had this frightened look on her face, because I tell her about everything. She knows about all my dreams, and all my deepest secrets. The bell rings.
She walks over to me, "So let me guess, you fell asleep in English..."
"Yea.."
".. had a dream about Ezra..
" Yes."
"... and that's why everyone looked back at you, and thought you were dying." She said a little too sarcastically.
" C'mon Lucy. This isn't supposed to be funny. I can't stop thinking about him, and you know that.
After school, Lucy and I walked home together. Her house is closer to the school than mine, which means I have a little thinking time alone. We get to Lucy's house, and say our goodbyes, and I'm off.
As I walk down towards my house, I see this tall, slim figure standing down near my house. I continue walking. I get a little closer and see that this tall figure has short, brown hair. It reminds me of Ezra, which doesn't help my situation right at the moment. As I keep approaching the figure, I can see more features. He has the same jacket as Ezra, I start a slight jog towards my house, until there is nothing more to see than that tall, slim, brown haired, blue eyed figure, was indeed, Ezra.
