Genre: Werewolf
"Sarah, you can't be this stubborn?" Gavin asked through the door, making me roll my eyes. Of course I can, he should know that. We did grow up together after all.
"I'm not coming out, and there's no way you can make me!" I yelled, feeling a bit childish. I felt I deserved it, though, given the circumstances. I heard a small chuckle that made my hairs stand up.
"I could always come in," he threatened quietly. I gaped in horror at the wooden door, knowing he could get through it easily.
"You wouldn't..." I tensed, knowing he was smirking like a mad man. I knew he would, if it meant getting to me. I was just a bit hard headed.
"You know I can, Sarah. I've done it before," he laughed at the end, earning a glare he should be glad he couldn't see.
"Yeah? And how many times before did my mother beat you senseless for ruining her doors?" I called, smiling mischievously. Silence. Ha, gotcha.
"Touché," he said, then sighed like it pained him. "I wish it didn't have to resort to this," he said remorsefully, but I could see right through his ploy.
"Resort to what? What are you doing Gavin?" I called, confused beyond belief. Silence. Was he...? Oh... NO!
"Gavin, are you telling on me?!" I screamed, hearing a deep laugh as I stood up off the toilet. He wouldn't... He didn't! I huffed and stomped my foot, knowing damn well who he told on me too.
"Sarah Rosemarie Jane, you come out of that bathroom right now or so help me God you will never see the light of day again!" My mother's scream echoed throughout the house. I gaped at myself in the mirror, not believing him. He actually did it. He told on me. To my mother! He hasn't done that since we were children.
"But Mom!" I yelled, but felt her anger roll through the house. Uh-oh... I gritted my teeth and looked at my feet as I unlocked the door, growling a bit when I looked to see Gavin standing there, smirking triumphantly. Ugh, if he wasn't the Alphas son, I'd of slugged him by now.
"You told on me to my mother... Through the mind link?" I asked tensely, glaring at him as he chuckled.
"I admit, it is a bit childish to do when your nineteen years of age, but you were acting like such a child so I figured I had to to the most childish thing. You'll forgive me, though, right SJ?" he asked, batting his eyelashes at me. I glared harder, waiting for my mother to come up the stairs.
"Not in your lifetime," I said venomously, looking away from him just as my mother walked in. On any other occasion, she's probably the most nicest person you would ever meet, with her long, brown curls and her soft, doe like eyes. But right now, I'd rather be facing a group of flea infested, disease ridden, foaming at the mouth and hornier than a teenage wolf locked inside a room with millions of strippers- rogues.
"Sarah, hon, you drive me absolutely insane sometimes! Now today is your eighteenth birthday and your acting like an eight year old. Today of all days is not the time to be acting so foolish! It's the night where Gavin becomes Alpha and goes out in search for his mate, our Luna! He can't run the back without her, and its in your best interest as the oldest out of my children for you to be there! Now, Gavin chose you specifically to be his Beta, and you don't want to go? What has gotten into you?" She lectured, making me sigh halfheartedly. I clenched my jaw and forced myself to look up at her. No way in hell I was telling her the truth, especially when Gavin was standing right there watching with a passive expression.
