Zoe's POV:
(At the prepping place)

"Ok Anna, ready to go in?"

"Yea oh and I want to talk to you about something." She said with an mysterious grin.

Ugh oh no, I bet it's gonna be about Shawn again!!
I sat down with a seat in the third row and Anna took a seat next to me.

"Ok so yesterday night before I went to sleep, I got a message from Shawn and guess what he texted me!??!" She asked while taking out her phone.

Why did she ask me to guess if she was going to show me anyway?

"Here, read the messages"She handed me her phone.

(Conversation on phone)
Hey Anna
Hey Shawn what's up?
Ok I want to ask you something...it's a little personal...
Ok sure
Does Zoe ever talk about me?...
Umm..why are you asking?
I just want to know that's all
Ok well, yea you come up in our conversations sometimes.
Oh ok thx for answering me. Gn!
Np. Gn!
(End of the conversation)

The first thing that came to my mind was...oh my gosh, I can't believe Shawn asked Anna about me! Second thing that came to my mind was...WAIT, I need to push this topic away for now and not think about it.

"Anna, I understand why you would be excited about that but like I said, I just want to put this topic away for now and focus on other things." I said as I took out my notebook.

"Ok fine and this time I really won't bring up this topic for a while." I could tell she really meant it because she knew I didn't want to talk about this.

By now, class was about to start and all of my classmates were here. I scanned around the room to see everyone. In the front row, there were these twin girls and their friends who looked pretty nice. In the second row there were these guys who looked like they were fun to hang out with. In my row, there was me, Anna, this guy and these other two girls who were pretty quiet so far. In the fourth row, there were a group of guys and girls who were playing a game. The bell rang and I saw that it was time to start class.

"Good morning everybody, my name is Ms. Johnson. I will be your English teacher this summer." She started handing us packets to complete. This class was about three hours long and afterwards, we went to eat lunch.

(At lunch)

Anna and I got in line to get our lunch and we just started talking about random things. We kept on walking forward in line without looking up. Ow!! I bumped into something..no wait someone. I felt embarrassed for not watching where I was going but before I had time to say sorry to him, he started talking to me.

"Pass me a napkin, please?" He said as I saw that his hands were full.

"Yea sure, no problem" I handed him a napkin.

"Thanks." He walked away to eat.

His face looks so familiar. I know I've seen him somewhere before...think Zoe think...oh yea! He's in my class. Now that I think about it, he looks like he would be a good person to hang out with...plus, he's pretty cute. I quietly giggled as that thought came across my mind.

Evan's POV:

Uh-oh...I just realized that my hands were full and I still needed to get a napkin. I tried to reach out and get a napkin myself, but I failed. Let's see, how cou-ow! I felt something bump into me. I turned around and saw that it was a someone-a girl from my class. Before she could've attempted to speak, I opened my mouth to ask her to pass me a napkin. After I walked away, I thought "I could use some other good friends besides James. That girl is the only person in my class I've had the guts to talk to so far and she looks like she could be a potential friend but I don't think she would want to be friends with me."

Zoe's POV:

Class was about to start and I looked around the classroom to see who was already here for class. Wait! Turn back to your left Zoe! That's the boy from lunch! He sits next to me?! Maybe I could use this chance to talk to him and make a new friend. Actually...never mind I don't want to I'm a little scared.

Evan's POV:

I was sitting in my seat and I was looking to see where the girl from lunch sat. "Imagine if she was sitting next to me" I thought to myself. I turned around to the seat on my right and guess what?! I saw the girl from lunch!! I was going to talk to her but I changed mind just in case she wouldn't want to talk to me.

Zoe's POV:

My teacher was going over the test we just took and since I got all the questions right, I started daydreaming a little bit. I turned around to look at "mystery guy" and thought about what it would be like to have a close guy friend. I have guy friends but I'm not close with any of them and I wouldn't count Shawn as a close guy friend because I have a crush on him and we don't talk THAT much. I turned around again to look at him and at that moment, I literally wanted to smack myself. He was looking at me!! I was so embarrassed so I quickly turned back around.

Evan's POV:

My teacher just gave us our tests back and I saw that I got a hundred on it. So while she was going over the test, I didn't put all my focus on the board. Instead, I started thinking about my "mystery girl." I think that having a close girl friend would be fun. I turned around to look at her and screamed in my head. She was looking right at me! Uh...this is a little awkward...! I quickly turned my head back to the board.

(End of prep)
Zoe's POV:

I was walking downstairs with Anna when I decided to tell her about my "mystery guy."

"So there's this guy that asked me for a napkin at lunch and also sits next to me dur-" I couldn't even get to finish my sentence before Anna spoke up.

"Wait! What about him?!"

"Relax, Anna, I don't like like him...I still like Shawn. But, I do wanna see if I could become friends with him." I laughed.

"Ok, then if you want to become friend with him then talk to him."

"That's the thing Anna, I'm scared to talk to him."

"Ok ok, we'll figure something out later." She said encouragingly.

"Ok fine and for now let's just refer to him as mystery guy." I giggled at the code name.

"Sure, now let's get home." She pushed the door open.

Evan's POV:

"James! Stop running! I want to tell you something." I easily caught up to him.

"What do you wanna tell me?"

"There's this girl in our class and she seems like she could be a good friend and she's the only person besides you that I've kinda talked to...but, I'm kinda scared to go up and talk to her."

"Well, maybe I could go talk to her tomorrow." He handed me a basketball.

"I don't know, maybe. Actually, I'll probably figure it out myself. Oh and let's just call her mystery girl for now until I find out what her name is."

"Ok, sure. Now let's play a game of basketball before we have to get back home."

Let's see what'll happen tomorrow at prep then. I hope it won't be weird with my "mystery girl."
