Iwazumi was discharged a couple days later, his family glad but he himself confused.
He watched the familiar streets past by, but the soft buzzing in his mind stayed. Questions poured through and were left unanswered.
"Hajime, make sure you unpack all of your things when you get back home. Some relatives are coming over to celebrate your discharge," his mother reprimanded.
Iwazumi just nodded. His silence was a normal in the Iwazumi household so his parents didn't question it. As he made his way inside, he softly told his parents he will be sleeping, since he's exhausted.
Though it was a terrible excuse, his parents bought it anyways and told him they would leave his share of dinner in the fridge.
He closed the door and sat on his bed. "How come he's not here..?" he asked. He looked around. He peered through the window, looking over at the neighborhood. From his range, he could see Oikawa's (supposed to be) home, just 4 houses down from the house across from him.
He sat down and opened his phone, to see that indeed Oikawa's contact is not even there. He sighed. "What the hell is going on?"

Iwazumi made his excuse that he wanted to rest for a day before returning to school. Of course his parents allowed that, knowing that he must be traumitized a bit.
As his parents made their leave, he sneaked out the back door. He walked down the lane, then stopping in front of "Oikawa's" house. He looked in the driveway.
There, was Oikawa's "beloved" Ford Focus, his first car and only car. Wait..If his car is here..Wouldn't that mean...
Iwazumi quickly clambered up the front steps and rang the doorbell. His heart pounded quickly. As the door opened, Iwazumi saw instead a small boy.
"Who are you?" he asked.
"Is Oikawa Tooru home?" Iwazumi gently asked. He could feel cold sweat down his back.
"I'm Oikawa Jun..." the little boy began before a woman made her way to the door.
Iwazumi recognized instantly that it was indeed Mrs. Oikawa. "Oikawa-san, I'm your neighbor Iwazumi Hajime," Iwazumi said.
"Oh..that's right. You were in an accident correct? How are you feeling?" Mrs. Oikawa asked. Her tone was the same and her eyes sparkled just like Tooru's.
"I'm fine..may I ask where Tooru is?" Iwazumi asked once more.
Mrs. Oikawa slowly fell silent. "Iwazumi-kun, where did you hear that name from?" she asked. Iwazumi didn't reply. "That was my first born..but he passed away almost 15 years ago.."
Iwazumi felt his throat close up. "What? But..that's impossible..He was with me.."
"Honey, dear, if you don't feel so good, you should rest. I'll come by later to drop off some soup, huh?" Mrs. Oikawa smiled.
"Thank you," Iwazumi coarsely replied. He turned around and made his way back. Now things were making sense.
Oikawa Tooru never existed..
