"And that, graduates, is the story of how love conquers all! It conquers hate, prejudice, disagreement, wrong-doing, and even an epidemic! My Granny Belinda, and her great-great grandmother, Lottie, knew what those horrible things were and chose love over every wrong done to them. Lottie's life is proof that all the wrong in the world can be made right with something so simple. They chose love to lead and guide them!
And not just any love, but the love one can only experience through a relationship with the Almighty Himself!
The challenge as you venture forth into your chosen profession is to use the love given to you by your Creator to change the world. We see hatred on the news, prejudice in our streets, wrong done to innocents, and 100 years or so later, we've lived through another pandemic.
What have we learned about others? What have we learned about ourselves? What can we do to make each person we meet feel as if they have value and purpose in life? Love.
It's not our place to judge, as so many did Lottie and David, but to love and accept! Let God take care of the rest!
I will end with a quote from one of my grandmother's favorite verses: 1 Corinthians 13:13.
Let this be a guide in your life!
"Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails!"
