Suddenly, the door burst open. Nobita rushed in, dragging Dekisugi behind him. His eyes immediately found Doraemon, and without hesitation, he ran forward and threw his arms around him. “Did he do anything to you? I’m sorry… I’m such a b-bad brother,” he sobbed.
Doraemon gently shook his head, wiping away Nobita’s tears with soft reassurance. “We’re friends, Nobita,” he said warmly. “And I already know Kenji.” Nobita gave a small nod, sniffling.
Meanwhile, Kenji’s eyes flicked to Dekisugi with obvious irritation, and Dekisugi responded with a nervous chuckle.
Trying to steer things along, Kenji looked at Doraemon and said, “Well, we’ll leave now.” Ming chimed in eagerly, “Mon, open your Anywhere Door!!” At that, Doraemon and Dorami immediately facepalmed while Kenji delivered a swift kick to Ming’s leg.
“What’s an ‘Anywhere Door’?” Nobita asked curiously.
Kenji quickly covered, laughing awkwardly, “Oh, he’s just babbling nonsense. Don’t listen to him.” Without giving them time to question more, he yanked Ming out of the room.
But Nobita, still concerned, turned to Doraemon. “If he’s your friend, let’s walk him to the gate at least.” Everyone agreed, and they all stepped outside to see Kenji and Ming off.
Kenji’s POV:
I need to talk to Doraemon alone. But this idiot Ming sticks to me like glue. Just then, Ming’s phone rang. After a brief exchange, he looked at me apologetically. “Sorry, Kenji, I can’t come to your place today. I’ll leave.” Within five minutes, a taxi arrived, and thankfully, he was gone.
Finally, I thought. But why is everyone else still here? I just want a moment alone with my Mon. As if hearing my silent wish, Doraemon suddenly said, “Kenji, I’ll come with you. There’s a doracake shop at the end of the street.” I nodded, heart quietly racing.
We walked together, but I couldn’t help glancing over my shoulder. Nobita, Dekisugi, and Dorami hadn’t gone back inside—they were still watching. At the shop, I bought him his favorite doracakes. When he insisted on going back alone, I insisted harder on walking him. Eventually, we made it back to the gate.
And then… it happened.
Out of nowhere, Doraemon rose on his toes and gave me a quick peck on my lips.
Jaw drop. Dekisugi and Dorami stood frozen. Nobita’s eyes widened before he swiftly pulled Doraemon aside.
“What was that?!” Nobita asked, utterly shocked.
Doraemon innocently pouted, “Ahh, Nobita, I was just thanking him.”
Dorami screamed, “Who the hell thanks someone like that?!”
Without missing a beat, Doraemon pointed at Dekisugi. “Well, he told me to! When he kissed Nobita, I asked why, and he told me that’s how you thank people.”
Silence.
All eyes turned to Dekisugi.
“Oh no,” Dekisugi mumbled as Nobita grabbed his arm and dragged him inside. “Dorami, help me!” he cried, but Dorami stormed in after them, laughing.
And then, it was just me and Doraemon.
He looked up at me with those round, innocent eyes. I crossed my arms and said, “You didn’t thank me properly.”
Doraemon tilted his head and pouted again. “Then what am I supposed to do?”
I chuckled at how ridiculously adorable he was. Leaning down, I kissed his forehead softly and whispered, “Don’t thank everyone like that. Only thank me that way.”
He nodded sweetly and ran inside, leaving me standing there with a smile I couldn’t hide.
